McKinley Kyle Paz and April King Mascardo delivered victories in the Super Underbone Open GP, while JM Malonzo and Justinne Bethany Tolentino added podium finishes in Tarlac.
Yamaha SEC Racing Team collected victories and podium finishes across multiple categories during Round 5 of the 2026 Motul MotoIR National Championship, held at Tarlac Circuit Hill on September 19 to 20.
McKinley Kyle Paz set the early pace by securing pole position in both the Super Underbone LTD GP and Super Underbone Open GP qualifying sessions. In the Open GP, April King Mascardo qualified second while Timothy Rojas placed fifth, putting three Yamaha riders among the leading contenders heading into the races.
Paz leads Yamaha 1-2 in Sprint Race
Paz carried his qualifying form into Superpole, taking P1 ahead of Mascardo in second.
He then converted that advantage into victory in the Super Underbone Open GP Sprint Race, with Mascardo finishing second to complete a Yamaha SEC Racing Team 1-2. Rojas crossed the line in fifth.
The Super Underbone LTD GP produced another double podium for the team. Paz finished second in the Expert category, with Mascardo in third, while JM Malonzo took second in the Intermediate division and Zain Doblada finished sixth.
Mascardo takes the main Open GP win
The roles reversed in the main Super Underbone Open GP, where Mascardo took the victory.
Paz finished third to complete the Expert podium, while Rojas placed fourth, giving Yamaha SEC Racing Team three riders inside the top four. In the Intermediate category, Malonzo secured another second-place finish, earning his second podium of the weekend.
The result added another win to Mascardo’s 2026 campaign while maintaining Paz’s strong run of podium finishes across the weekend.
Tolentino adds another podium
In the Supersport Bike Women’s Championship, Justinne Bethany Tolentino qualified second and went on to finish P2 in the race.
Her result added another podium to Yamaha SEC Racing Team’s Round 5 tally and kept her among the championship’s leading competitors.
Doblada’s Supersport 200 race ends early
Zain Doblada returned to the Supersport 200 GP after winning the category in Round 4.
He qualified second at Tarlac but was unable to finish the race, ending his Round 5 campaign in the category with a DNF.
Strong results across multiple classes
Across the weekend, Yamaha SEC Racing Team recorded wins in both the Sprint Race and main Open GP, along with podium finishes in the Super Underbone LTD GP, Super Underbone Open GP Intermediate division, and Supersport Bike Women’s Championship.
The results came as the 2026 national racing season moved toward its concluding stages, with Yamaha Motor Philippines continuing its participation in MotoIR as part of its broader motorsport development program.
