Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. launched the updated YZF-R15 which features a sleeker design and improved overall efficiency and performance.
Inside, the YZF-R15 carries a powerful 155cc LC4V SOHC FI engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission that offers a higher engine displacement and better fuel consumption than its predecessor.
The new R15 is the first to be fitted with a high performance version of the Variable Valve Actuation system which gives readily available torque in the low to mid RPM range.
The engine is also fitted with a bypass thermostat cooling system that reduces engine warm-up time, and a forged piston and diasil cylinder which provides rigidity and cooling efficiency.
Sharing DNA with its big brother, the R1, the motorcycle sports assist and slipper clutch for smooth shifting, a redesigned deltabox frame from the iconic R-series design fine-tuned for rigidity, an aluminum handlebar crown for a more accurate and responsive steering feel, upside-down front suspension, and a newly-designed aluminum rear arm.
Other performance and style improvements include an aerodynamically designed centrail air duct, a fully digital speedometer, slim twin-eye LED headlights, an updated three-stage expansion chamber muffler with a threeway catalytic converter, an aerodynamic LED tail light, a more muscular fuel tank, and a 140 mm rear tire width.
The YZF-R15 is available in Race Blue, Black Raven and Matte Red colors priced at PHP 164,000 available in all Yamaha 3S Shops and Multibrand stores nationwide.
