The second leg of Yamaha’s WE DEFY series took riders from Plaza Independencia through CCLEX to TOPS Cebu as the brand introduced a new direction for its riding community.
Yamaha Motor Philippines brought together 80 Yamaha Club riders in Cebu for the second leg of its WE DEFY series, an experience designed to introduce the company’s new brand identity to the YCLUB community while setting the direction for its activities in 2026.
The Cebu gathering followed the first WE DEFY leg at Kilometer Zero in Luneta Park, with Mindanao next on the itinerary. Rather than treating the new identity as a conventional brand launch, Yamaha built the Visayas leg around a shared overnight ride that gave participants an opportunity to experience the WE DEFY philosophy on the road.
Starting from Plaza Independencia
The ride began at Plaza Independencia in Cebu, where Yamaha introduced the WE DEFY branding to participating riders and discussed the role of YCLUB in bringing the philosophy into future community activities. The historic location provided the setting for a message centered on freedom, individuality, and the willingness to move beyond familiar routines.
A riders’ briefing prepared the group for the journey, while Yamaha positioned YCLUB as more than a collection of motorcycle owners. Riding through Cebu before dawn
Following the launch program, the 80 YCLUB members set out on a midnight touring route from Plaza Independencia through the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, Bridge Park, and onward toward TOPS Cebu. Riders were divided into groups based on motorcycle category, with navigators and marshals guiding each group to keep the convoy organized throughout the journey.
The overnight setting was a deliberate part of the experience. With much of Cebu still asleep, the riders were able to experience the city and the road differently, turning the route into more than a conventional group ride. Yamaha framed the journey as an opportunity for participants to reconnect with their motorcycles, the road, and the wider riding community while putting the WE DEFY message into practice.
Catching sunrise at TOPS Cebu
The ride culminated at TOPS Cebu, where the group arrived as daylight began to break. After breakfast, participants gathered to reflect on the overnight journey and discuss the direction Yamaha sees for YCLUB during the year.

From Kilometer Zero in Manila to Cebu and soon Mindanao, the series is building a national thread around Yamaha Club riders and the experiences they share on the road.
