The completion of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B is beginning to reshape logistics operations across Metro Manila, with transport and freight companies reporting faster delivery times, improved fleet utilization, and more predictable supply chain movement.

Segment 3B completes the 7.7-kilometer CAVITEX C5 Link alignment, creating a direct connection between the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and C5 Road in Taguig City.

For logistics operators navigating heavy urban congestion and rising operating costs, the new connection offers a more efficient route that reduces time spent idling in traffic while improving delivery reliability.

Faster turnaround times for logistics operators

Industry groups said the expressway is already improving operational efficiency by allowing trucks and delivery vehicles to bypass traditional bottlenecks across major urban corridors.

Doris Torres, executive director of the Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association, Inc. (PMTLAI), said the new segment helps optimize transport movement while supporting delivery timelines.

“The opening of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B eases up our daily transport movements, helping us keep up our delivery timelines and optimize our resources,” Torres said. “We welcome infrastructure that eventually reduces the total cost of logistics in the country.”

According to logistics operators, routes that previously required up to 1.5 hours can now be completed in as little as 15 minutes under improved traffic conditions.

Improving fleet efficiency and service reliability

Freight and logistics firms also noted that smoother traffic flow is helping improve scheduling consistency and vehicle productivity.

Arlyn Abello, account manager at Premier Global Logistics Corp., said the expressway has helped improve fleet performance and overall service reliability. “It has helped enhance the efficiency of our deliveries, allowing us to better meet our schedules and improve overall service reliability,” Abello said.

Llalaksmi Freight Services Inc. added that the route allows drivers to avoid heavily congested inner roads, helping reduce fuel consumption, delays, and operational stress. “It helps reduce delays, fuel consumption, and overall stress for our drivers, which is a big factor in keeping operations smooth,” the company said. “Because of this, we’re able to serve our clients more efficiently, particularly for time-sensitive shipments.

Expanding connectivity despite partial operations

While the alignment is now fully connected, portions of Segment 3B continue to operate under a modified traffic configuration while right-of-way concerns are being resolved.

The expressway currently operates with two lanes in each direction, with plans to eventually expand to full six-lane capacity alongside a 2×2 service road.

Even in its current configuration, the project is already helping logistics companies improve route predictability and maximize time spent transporting goods instead of sitting in traffic.

Infrastructure supporting supply chain growth

The CAVITEX C5 Link expressway is a joint venture between Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation subsidiary Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), with operations handled by PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC).

The project forms part of broader infrastructure efforts aimed at improving mobility, freight movement, and economic connectivity across Metro Manila and nearby growth corridors.

Additional project and traffic information are available through CAVITEX.
