Emirates has introduced a series of measures designed to give passengers more flexibility when booking and managing their travel plans, including free date changes, lower refund fees, travel insurance options, and additional Skywards benefits.
The changes apply across different parts of the Emirates network, with some measures focused specifically on passengers traveling to Dubai and others available more broadly. Fare differences may still apply when changing travel dates, while existing no-show fees remain unchanged.
Unlimited free date changes for Dubai-bound travelers
From August 10, 2026, customers traveling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as needed without paying a change fee across a wider range of fare types.
The benefit applies to Economy Saver through Flex fares, as well as Business Class Special, Saver, and Flex fares. Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus, and First Class fares remain fully flexible.
While the change fee is waived, passengers may still need to pay any applicable fare difference when moving to a different flight or travel date.
Lower refund fees for flights to Dubai
Emirates has also reduced refund fees for selected fares on flights to Dubai. Economy Saver fares now carry a USD50 refund fee, while Economy Flex fares are subject to a USD25 fee.
In Business Class, Special and Saver fares carry a USD50 refund fee, while Flex fares are subject to a USD25 fee. These lower refund charges are intended to give customers another option when they need to cancel rather than reschedule their trip.
One free date change across the Emirates network
Passengers traveling anywhere on the Emirates network receive one free date change on tickets booked from April 2, 2026, including journeys that connect through Dubai.
Customers can also hold a fare for up to 24 hours at no charge while finalizing their plans. As with the Dubai-specific flexibility measures, fare differences may still apply when a new travel date carries a higher fare.
Comprehensive Travel Cover adds broader protection
Emirates also offers Comprehensive Travel Cover, an insurance product available in 27 countries, which can be purchased at the time of booking or added later through Manage Booking.
Coverage includes trip cancellation, baggage delay and loss, worldwide medical expenses, and emergency evacuation. It also includes conflict-related cover with reimbursement of medical expenses up to USD25,000 and a free trip extension of up to 30 days.
Emirates says the conflict-related protection is not restricted by government travel advice.
Where an Emirates flight is disrupted, the airline says it will provide accommodation directly to affected passengers. If onward connections with other airlines are affected or Emirates services are unavailable, passengers can be rebooked to their destination at no additional cost, including in cases of airspace disruption.
Skywards members get temporary benefits
Emirates Skywards members can also access several limited-time benefits until August 31, 2026.
Members require 20% fewer Tier Miles to reach Silver, Gold, or Platinum status and can earn 20% bonus Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights.
The airline has also adjusted its Cash+Miles redemption rate during the promotional period to 2,000 Miles for USD30 in value, compared with the usual USD15. This can be used toward Emirates or flydubai flights, excess baggage, lounge access, and seat selection.
