2nd Petron Sprint 4T Endurance & Economy Run open for entries

Motorcycle enthusiasts who want to test their mettle are invited to compete in the 2nd Petron Sprint 4T Endurance & Economy Run, scheduled for 05 February 2011. Open to all types of four-stroke motorcycles, the event requires competitors to travel a distance of 750-kilometers with the most economical fuel consumption at the most reasonable time, while adhering to public riding safety rules and regulations.

    The 2nd Petron Sprint 4T Endurance & Economy Run will group participants into eight categories based on engine displacement. These are Class 1: 100 -115cc; Class 2: 116-125cc; Class 3: 126-150cc; Class 4: 151- 250cc; Class 5: 251-599cc; Class 6: 600-750cc; Class 7: 751-1000cc; and Class 8: over 1001cc.

Taking off from Petron-Diego Silang, the 750km route will proceed to Valenzuela, Bulacan and take McArthur Highway through the provinces of Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Benguet and Mountain Province, ending at the Petron service station in Kisad, Baguio City. Nineteen Petron service stations along the route have been designated as official filling stations and checkpoints to verify that the participants followed the correct route and prescribed speed.

To enter the 2nd Petron Sprint 4T Endurance & Economy Run, a participant is required to purchase 5 liters of Petron Sprint 4T motorcycle oils and P1,000 worth of Petron fuels from 01 December 2010 to 04 February 2011. Qualified entries are required to show proof of purchase, drivers license with restriction 1, and the motorcycle’s OR/CR. Safety gear is also mandatory during the run.

Three hundred slots have been allocated for the event, which is open to scooters, underbones and big bikes. The top 3 finishers for each class (lowest demerits based on prescribed speed and time, and most economical fuel consumption) will receive trophies, cash prizes, Certificates of Accomplishment, and t-shirt. The top 10 finishers in each class will receive a Petron Sprint 4T vest. The awarding ceremonies will be held at 11:oo am on 06 February 2011, at the Prince Hotel in Baguio City.

Petron Sprint 4T motorcycle oil comes in three variants to meet the different performance requirements of four-stroke motorcycles operating under moderate to severe driving conditions. These are the top-of-the-line Sprint 4T Enduro for the racing experience; Sprint 4T Rider for riding dependability; and Sprint 4T Extra for reliable performance.

Petron Sprint 4T motorcycle oils meet and even exceed the quality requirements of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and Japanese Automobile Standards Organization (JASO), and the viscosity parameters set by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). As such, the new Petron Sprint 4T oils will not easily thin out even on higher engine operating temperatures typically experienced in severe driving conditions such as high passenger load, heavy traffic, and very rough terrain.
