The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has launched Himala, a new campaign that expands its May BPI Dito initiative by transforming neighborhood partner stores into convenient banking hubs where customers can open accounts, apply for financial products, and complete cash deposit and withdrawal transactions.
The initiative reflects BPI’s continuing effort to make banking services more accessible by bringing them closer to where Filipinos already shop and conduct their daily activities.
Banking beyond traditional branches
Beginning July 1, 2026, BPI is integrating account opening, deposits, and withdrawals into a unified partner store banking experience.
Through a nationwide network of more than 7,000 retail partner stores, customers can open deposit accounts and apply for BPI products at familiar establishments such as grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations.
Currently, 1,369 partner stores also offer cash deposit and withdrawal services, extending essential banking transactions to more communities across the Philippines. Since the program began, more than one million new depositors have opened accounts through May BPI Dito partner stores.
Advancing financial inclusion
TG Limcaoco, president and chief executive officer of BPI, said the initiative is about expanding access to the country’s financial system.
“The real miracle is not technology itself—it is giving more Filipinos the opportunity to participate in the financial system with ease and confidence. Through our growing partner network, we are transforming everyday locations into gateways to banking, helping make financial inclusion a reality for more communities.”
Meanwhile, Rally Jereza, head of agency banking at BPI, said the partner store network has evolved into a comprehensive banking ecosystem.
“What began in 2023 as product application points has evolved into a fully integrated banking ecosystem. Every phase, from enabling transactions on tablets, to barcode withdrawals, and now barcode deposits, was built to ensure safety, simplicity, and trust. This is not just expansion; it is a redefinition of what a bank can be in the digital age.”
From product applications to full-service banking
BPI introduced its partner store network in 2023, initially allowing customers to apply for financial products closer to their communities and helping underserved Filipinos open their first deposit accounts.
The program expanded in 2024 to include tablet-assisted cash deposit and withdrawal services at selected partner locations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
In September 2025, BPI introduced barcode-based withdrawals through the BPI mobile app at participating Robinsons Retail stores. By April 2026, the bank completed the ecosystem with barcode-enabled cash deposits, allowing customers to both withdraw and deposit funds through partner stores using the BPI app.

Banking where customers already are
According to BPI, the Himala campaign represents more than an expansion of its distribution network. It reflects the bank’s broader vision of making banking services more accessible regardless of a customer’s location.
As the partner store network continues to grow, BPI aims to make banking a more convenient part of everyday life by reducing the need to visit traditional branches while expanding financial inclusion nationwide.
