Fiuu has secured a JCB Direct Acquiring license as a Regional Acquirer across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, strengthening its payment capabilities by enabling direct connectivity with JCB for transaction processing.
The milestone allows Fiuu to process JCB transactions in-house, reducing reliance on intermediaries while giving merchants a more dependable way to accept JCB payments across both online and offline channels.
Strengthening merchant payment capabilities
Direct acquiring provides merchants with greater control over transaction processing, settlement operations, payment performance, and merchant servicing.
According to Fiuu, the direct connection with JCB enables faster settlement processes, clearer transaction visibility, improved operational reliability, and a more consistent payment acceptance experience for JCB cardmembers.
The license also builds on the company’s regional payment operations. During FY2025, Fiuu processed USD13 billion in total payment volume, reflecting its ability to support high-volume digital payment activity across multiple industries and markets.
Responding to Southeast Asia’s growing digital economy
Fiuu noted that Southeast Asia’s digital commerce landscape continues to expand, driven by sustained growth in online shopping and digital payments.
The company cited regional trends showing that three in five consumers now shop online, while more than 60 percent of payments are made digitally. Although QR-based and digital wallet payments continue to grow, credit cards remain an important payment method due to established consumer habits and rewards programs, reinforcing the need for broad card acceptance across both digital and physical commerce.
Supporting regional business growth
Eng Sheng Guan, chief executive officer of Fiuu, said the new license represents the next stage of the company’s regional acquiring strategy.

Expanding JCB acceptance
JCB is one of Japan’s leading payment brands and, as of 2026, has issued more than 181 million cards globally with acceptance at approximately 72 million merchants worldwide.
Through the partnership, JCB acceptance is expected to expand across Fiuu’s merchant network, providing businesses with access to more JCB cardmembers while strengthening payment coverage throughout the region.

Thailand next in regional expansion
With direct acquiring operations now established across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, Fiuu is working to extend the capability to Thailand as part of its regional growth strategy.
The planned expansion reflects the company’s broader objective of strengthening its role as a regional card scheme acquirer, giving businesses access to a single payment partner with direct acquiring capability, local market expertise, and scalable payment infrastructure.
