NAVI PH secured a runner-up finish at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s International at Esports World Cup 2026 after reaching the grand final against defending champion Team Vitality.
The Filipino squad fell 4–2 in the best-of-seven championship series, while Team Vitality claimed its second consecutive Esports World Cup title and fourth MWI championship overall. Despite the defeat, NAVI PH completed another strong international campaign and reinforced the Philippines’ position as one of the leading competitive regions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
NAVI PH reaches the grand final
NAVI PH entered the tournament carrying the expectations of Philippine esports after previously defeating Team Vitality at MWI 2024. The team overcame a difficult lower-bracket run during the group stage before advancing to the knockout stage and eventually earning a place in the grand final.
The championship series became a rematch between two of the most accomplished teams in women’s MLBB. Team Vitality competed as a French club with an Indonesian roster, while NAVI PH represented the Philippines among the tournament’s top international teams.
Strong start from the Filipino squad
NAVI PH opened the grand final with an early advantage, controlling the first game and securing the initial point of the series. Team Vitality responded in the second game and maintained its momentum in game three to take a 2–1 lead.
The defending champion eventually reached match point heading into the sixth game. NAVI PH attempted to extend the series to a deciding seventh match, but Team Vitality closed the contest with a 4–2 victory to retain the MWI title.
Team Vitality earns fourth MWI title
The championship gave Team Vitality its fourth MWI title and second consecutive win at the Esports World Cup. The team received USD150,000 in prize money and earned 1,000 points toward the Club Championship. “I saw how hard my team works, and I think we really deserved this victory,” said Team Vitality player Michelle “Chell” Siswanto. “I’m really, really happy.”
The roster’s consistency and international experience were evident throughout the tournament. Team Vitality has become one of the most successful teams in women’s MLBB, building a record that includes repeated championship appearances and four MWI titles.
Vival named tournament MVP
Team Vitality player Viorelle “Vival” Chen was named Sony Most Valuable Player, earning her second MVP title. She also received an additional USD25,000 in prize money. “I’m really, really happy with this award, and the result of this year’s MWI together with my team,” Vival said. She added that the team dedicated the victory to its supporters after winning in Paris, Team Vitality’s home city.
A milestone for Philippine women’s esports
Although NAVI PH did not secure the title, its runner-up finish adds another milestone to the Philippines’ record in international MLBB competition. The team’s performance also highlighted the growing recognition of Filipino players in women’s esports.
NAVI PH’s run to the final demonstrated the depth and resilience of the Philippine competitive scene. By overcoming a difficult group-stage path and challenging the defending champion in the final, the squad remained among the strongest women’s MLBB teams in the world.
MWI expands its global reach
The 2026 tournament marked the competition’s transition from the MLBB Women’s Invitational to the MLBB Women’s International. The revised name reflects its development into a broader global championship for the women’s competitive scene.
The event also marked MWI’s major European debut, with Team Vitality lifting the trophy on home ground in Paris. The tournament brought together leading teams from different regions and provided a larger international platform for women’s Mobile Legends competition.
Geltek Cyber Team takes third place
In the third-place match, Geltek Cyber Team defeated Galaxy Phoenix in a 3–0 sweep. The European squad received USD50,000 and 500 Club Championship points for its finish. Geltek Cyber Team was the only European roster to reach the knockout stage. Its podium result added further regional diversity to the tournament’s final standings.
