Canon announced the launch of the third generation of varioPRINT DP product line with the release of Canon varioPRINT 140 / 130 / 115. Comprising models with print speeds of up to 140 images per minute (ipm), the new line features market-driven extensions to help print service providers with high monochrome workloads meet deadlines, as well as the quality and flexibility expectations of their customers.
“The varioPRINT DP line highlights Canon’s commitment to address the demands of production markets, providing reliability and versatility for environments with the need for efficient and cost-effective monochrome production printing,” said Armiliza Liu, Assistant Director of Professional Print Production Business of Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. “Known for unrivalled reliability, the varioPRINT DP line coupled with the latest PRISMAsync capabilities are set to enhance throughput, and reduce labor costs as print service providers strive to be more productive and profitable.”
Maximum productivity with smart print management
The varioPRINT DP line is capable of producing peak volumes up to 2.2 million letter/ A4-size images per month, and features various print management tools for effective production
planning and monitoring, such as the PRISMAsync Job Scheduler, PRISMAsync Remote Manager and PRISMAsync Remote Control app for smart devices.
Downloadable to a smartphone or personal tablet, the new Remote Control app allows operators to focus on other tasks while receiving real-time notifications of upcoming operational actions, such as loading media or adding consumables for added efficiency. One or multiple PRISMAsync Print Server-driven digital presses can be monitored at a glance, helping to expedite manual interventions that increases device uptime and productivity.
Versatile workflows and finishing options for quality prints
Driving greater workflow efficiencies, the Windows 10-based PRISMAsync Print Server streamlines job handling processes with its visual press console and helps reduce time spent on staff trainings and manual operations. Fully integrated with the PRISMA software suite, it is essential for improving total system performance and accelerate workflows in production
printing. For integration into other existing workflows, the JDF/JMF interface of the varioPRINT DP line allows connectivity to third-party systems such as CIP4-compliant MIS or Web-to-Print solutions.
A full range of in-line finishing and output options, including stapling, saddle stitching, folding, die punching, inserting, ring binding and high-capacity stacking is offered to automate the production of most print products. For other specialized needs, the open Document Finishing Device (DFD) Interface enables in-line connectivity to third party devices, and a simple output tray facilitates off-line finishing as well as optimizes working space with a smaller footprint.
The varioPRINT DP line delivers offset-like, high print quality with sharp lines, halftone uniformity and smooth gradations through its ScreenPoint Technology’s SuperCell rasterization. The unique technology also allows the reproduction of color halftones and photographs as grayscale images with excellent resolution, dense black fills, and precise fine lines without operator intervention. In addition, its DirectPress Technology eliminates quality degradation by working in a single, stable digital process unaffected by light, static charge, temperature and humidity, providing output consistency and outstanding reliability.
Heightened performance with security and sustainability
Equipped with new security features to monitor user activity and control unauthorized usage, the varioPRINT DP line is ideal for commercial printers handling sensitive materials. The security features include user authentication by role or via LDAP-based operator login, a configurable user interface and extended audit logging.
Recognizing the importance of conservation, the varioPRINT DP line’s energy consumption is among the lowest when compared to other devices in the marketplace, and produces virtually no toner waste with zero ozone emissions.
