Epson has expanded its industrial dye-sublimation printer lineup with the launch of the SureColor SC-F20030, a 76-inch model designed for high-volume textile production.
The new printer uses eight PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads and delivers production speeds of up to 306m²/h at 600 × 600dpi. It also supports optional jumbo media units with loads of up to 300kg for longer production runs. Epson is positioning the SC-F20030 for textile manufacturers and print-on-demand businesses managing short-run customization, tighter turnaround times, and more demanding production workflows.
Responding to growing digital textile demand
Textile manufacturers across Southeast Asia are increasingly adopting digital printing to accommodate shorter production runs, customized designs, and more complex order requirements. According to Epson-IDC’s Digital Textile Printing Trends in Southeast Asia report, digital dye-sublimation printing can help print providers achieve revenue growth up to eight times faster than traditional screen printing while expanding into segments such as sportswear, homewear, and footwear.
The study findings are attributed to Epson-IDC and should be reviewed against the complete report and methodology if used as an independently verified industry benchmark.
The SC-F20030 builds on Epson’s existing 76-inch SC-F11030, which supports both short-run and high-volume textile printing. The new model increases printhead capacity and is designed for operations where speed, scalability, and consistent output are priorities.
Eight printheads increase production speed
The SC-F20030 uses eight Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads arranged horizontally with overlapping print coverage. This doubles the four-printhead architecture of the SC-F11030 and is designed to improve dot placement across the printer’s 76-inch print width. Epson says the printer can reach speeds of up to 306m²/h at 600 × 600dpi while maintaining consistent image quality during extended production runs. The final output and production rate may vary according to the selected print mode, media, ink coverage, file complexity, environmental conditions, and workflow configuration.
Continuous ink supply reduces interruptions
Like the SC-F11030, the new printer uses Epson UltraChrome DS Ink and a bulk ink supply system with 10-liter ink packs. The system supports hot swapping. When one ink pack runs out during printing, the printer automatically switches to a second pack of the same color, allowing production to continue while the empty pack is replaced. This feature is intended to reduce downtime in high-volume environments where interrupting a job can affect productivity, scheduling, and material use.
Integrated drying supports stable output
The SC-F20030 includes a built-in drying system with double-sided heating. By warming both the front and back of the transfer media, the system supports in-process ink curing and helps reduce unwanted ink transfer and media wrinkling. An integrated dust-reduction mechanism combines an intake fan and media cleaner to limit dust buildup inside the printer. Epson says this can help reduce nozzle clogging, maintain print consistency, and minimize waste during long production runs.
Jumbo media support for longer runs
For higher-volume operations, Epson offers optional jumbo roll and jumbo reel units that support media loads of up to 300kg. The larger capacity reduces the frequency of media replacement and allows longer uninterrupted production runs. Epson is targeting mid- to large-scale textile factories serving domestic and export markets, including traditional manufacturers transitioning to digital dye-sublimation workflows.
User-replaceable components simplify maintenance
The SC-F20030 includes self-repair functions that allow trained operators to replace selected components. Parts such as the printhead and anti-drying cap may be replaced by users with guidance from the printer’s diagnostic system. Epson says this reduces reliance on service visits and allows businesses to recover more quickly from certain technical issues.
Supporting higher-volume textile workflows
“As Southeast Asia’s textile printing industry evolves, flexibility, responsiveness and production stability are becoming critical to long-term success,” said Noelle Gonzalez, head of marketing at Epson Philippines. “With the SC-F20030, we are expanding Epson’s industrial dye-sublimation portfolio to better support businesses managing higher production demands, tighter turnaround expectations and more complex print workflows. It reflects our continued commitment to helping customers improve operational efficiency while advancing more sustainable printing practices.”
The launch gives textile producers another option for scaling digital production while retaining features intended to support consistent output, maintenance control, and longer operating cycles.
