At the OPPO 2019 Future Technology Communication Conference, the company announced its forthcoming 10x lossless zoom technology. This breakthrough technology will be officially launched at the MWC 2019, in Barcelona.

To utilize this new technology, OPPO has developed a triple-camera solution: Ultra Wide Angle, Ultra Clear Master, and Telephoto. The ultra-wide-angle camera has an equivalent focal range of 15.9 mm, the primary camera guarantees photo quality, and the telephoto camera has  a 159 mm equivalent focal range combined with the original “peep-up structure” to support high-magnification zoom. The cameras work together to achieve 10x zoom. To go with these camera technologies, OPPO is also integrating dual OIS (optical image stabilization) on both standard and telephoto cameras.

On top of the triple-camera structure, OPPO’s “periscope structure ” was designed also designed to achieve 10x lossless zoom.

Industry benchmark-level drop tests–28,000 drop tests on every side–were implemented to ensure the reliability of the camera module. OPPO ensures that its 10x lossless zoom technology meets commercial standards and is ready for mass production.

Beyond the new camera technology that will soon be found on OPPO phones, the company also announced a new wide zone optical fingerprint recognition technology. Effectively, this on-screen optical fingerprint sensor can recognize an area up to 15 times of the current mainstream optical solution.

OPPO wide zone optical fingerprint recognition would have innovative functions to improve security such as two-finger simultaneous entry and authentication. In addition, the next-generation solution also incorporates the “Optical Encryption” feature where all applications in the “Optical Encryption Area” can be activated, authenticated and unlocked with one click.

Products equipped with optical domain screen fingerprint technology will be launched in 2019, as suggested by an OPPO spokesperson.
