According to Globe senior vice president for corporate communications Yoly Crisanto, Globe Telecom mobile services—voice, sms, data—are available in Surigao Del Norte province even in areas affected by the powerful earthquake last 10 February 2017. She notes that while some base stations have been damaged by the quake, neighboring cellsites are up and running to provide uninterrupted mobile services. Globe technical teams are currently working to restore affected sites and ensure complete normalization of operations in the entire province.
