The new SIM is designed for compatible Home WiFi routers and gives users a low-cost way to reconnect existing hardware without buying a new device.
Smart Communications has introduced the Smart Home WiFi SIM 99, a dedicated SIM designed for Home WiFi routers and priced at PHP99.
The SIM comes with 2GB of non-expiring data and works with open-line Home WiFi routers, as well as compatible Smart and PLDT Home WiFi devices with expired or inactive SIMs. The idea is straightforward: users with working routers can reconnect them without having to purchase new hardware.
Designed to reuse existing routers
The Home WiFi SIM 99 is aimed at households, dormers, boarders, and small businesses that already have compatible routers but need an active connection.
That can be particularly useful in places where fixed fiber is not yet available, or where users want a more flexible prepaid setup for several connected devices. Because the SIM is intended specifically for Home WiFi use, it offers another option for users who need shared connectivity without committing to a wired broadband plan.

Beyond the included 2GB of non-expiring data, subscribers can register for Smart Home WiFi BIG DATA and UNLI promos depending on their usage needs.
Customers can register the SIM through Smart’s official SIM Registration portal and manage Home WiFi data offers through the Smart App.
5G-ready for compatible devices and coverage
The Smart Home WiFi SIM 99 is 5G-ready, allowing compatible routers to access Smart’s 5G network where available.
The practical benefit will depend on the router itself, local signal conditions, and network coverage, but the setup gives users the option to take advantage of faster mobile data where supported.
Smart also cites its recent Ookla recognition for Best Mobile Video Experience in the Philippines for the first half of 2026, with a Video Score of 72.82.
