Following the success of the Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback that won the 2012-2013 Car of the Year – Philippines award, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) officially launched the sedan version of their popular subcompact at the SMX at SM Aura. Dubbed as the Mirage G4 sedan, the name stands for Mirage Global 4-door sedan. Designed to address the need for a practical and stylish compact sedan that would suit diverse lifestyles, the Mirage G4 offers great cabin and trunk spaces, class-leading features and amenities providing customers with an exceptional value for money.
The Mirage G4 is fitted with a 1.2 Liter 3 In-Line DOHC MIVEC petrol engine that produces a maximum output of 78Ps at 6,000 rpm and 100Nm at 4,000rpm of torque.
Similar with its hatchback sibling the all-new Mirage G4 is equipped with front dual SRS airbags to ensure safety and protection from direct impact collisions. It also features the Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (R.I.S.E.) Body that ensures the safety of all passengers. The body structure’s crumple zones effectively absorb and dispense crash energy from all directions, completely protecting the interior cabin. The GLS variant is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
One of the easiest ways to distinguish a GLS from a GLX variant is by the color of its “Diamond-Cut” radiator front grille and its tires. The GLX variant come with a black grille that adds sleekness and excitement to the small sedan, and is fitted with 14” x 4.5J Steel with 175/65 R14 tires. The GLX variant is available in Majestic Red, Gemstone Grey Mica, Cool Silver and Aurora White.
The more premium GLS variant features a chrome grille, 15” x 5.0J Alloy Wheels with 185/55 R15 tires, Auto Climate-Control system, and Power Side Mirrors with Integrated LED-type Lamps, keyless entry as well as a Start/Stop push button. Additional colors available for this variant are Medium Blue Mica and Pyrenese Black.
Unlike the hatchback version, the Mirage G4 offers more space and legroom, and can now sit 5 adults. The sedan’s trunk can accommodate up to 3 golf bags or up to 450 liters of grocery and shopping bags.
Suggested price of the all-new Mirage G4 starts at P578,000 for the GLX MT, P628,000 for the GLX CVT, while the GLS MT is available for P668,000 and the top of the line GLS CVT is P718,000. All Mitsubishi G4 are CBU Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, and come with an extended warranty period of five years or 100,000 kilometers whichever comes first.
