The UPLB Career Assistance Program (UPLB CAP) lifts off on a journey of self-exploration and different perspectives on competence towards personal and professional growth with the Career Fair, set for April 22-25 at the University of the Philippines Los Banos.

Employment and internship prospects for all college students, fresh graduates, or job seekers from any university are in store at the UPLB CAP Career Fair 2024, which will feature over 30 esteemed company partners from the fields of agriculture, technology, engineering, food and beverage, business, and finance, among others.

Established in 2020, UPLB CAP is a non-profit, socio-civic organization that aims to empower individuals and help them become career-ready individuals. With its third annual Career Fair, the organization fulfills its mission to bridge opportunities from professional institutions to UPLB students.

“UPLB CAP supports students in rising beyond boundaries by providing guidance and resources to help them navigate their unique career journeys,” says Jim Andrei Victoria, UPLB CAP Year 4 president and Career Fair Project head.

“Through initiatives such as the Career Fair, UPLB CAP plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of empowerment and growth, enabling students to confidently rise beyond boundaries and achieve their full potential.”

This year’s theme, “Rising Beyond Boundaries”, signifies breaking free from limitations and embracing individuality, emphasizing the importance of challenging conventional norms and expectations.

“It underscores the idea that personal and professional growth often requires stepping outside of predefined boundaries, embracing uncertainty, and embracing the journey of self-discovery and continual improvement,” Victoria explains.

Participants in the Career Fair will be welcomed by a two-week run of career-related activities. In preparation for the main event, an immersive exhibit awaits at the Student Union Building from April 16-19, to give students a glimpse of UPLB CAP’s initiatives and introduce the partner companies.

Then, the Career Fair will take flight with two days of Company Talks, unraveling valuable insights about our partner companies. The first day of Company Talks on April 22 will be held virtually via Zoom, highlighting the gold and silver partner companies; while Day 2 will be on April 23, when our co-presenter and platinum company partners will face participants at the REDREC Auditorium.

The exploration continues with Company Exhibits set up in UPLB’s historic Baker Hall from April 24-25. Attendees will get to have an interactive and up-close experience with partner companies, giving them a closer look at their services and possible internship and job openings. A CV drop-off bin is available for each company booth which gives participants a chance to connect directly with companies that pique their interest.

Victoria encourages every job seeker to maximize the opportunities available at UPLB CAP’s Career Fair 2024. “Keep your enthusiasm alive, remain open to learning, and utilize platforms such as the Career Fair to forge connections with opportunities that resonate with your goals and principles,” he said.

“Embrace your journey and talents and understand that career development is an ongoing process, not a fixed destination. Remember, UPLB CAP stands ready to support you in enhancing your skills and advancing your career journey continuously, every step of the way.”
