    Drinktec, the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry, is all set to become the biggest yet when it takes place at the Messe München exhibition centre in Munich from September 11 to 15 of this year.

    Messe München GmbH, the operator of the exhibition centre and organizer of around 40 trade fairs for capital goods, consumer products and new technologies, in cooperation with Fairs and More Philippines, held a roadshow at the Manila Marriott in Pasay to acquaint local business leaders and media outlets to Drinktec.

    European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines executive director Florian Gottein, Messe München GmbH department director Georg Moller, Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) managing director Richard Clemens, Fairs and More, Inc. president Gerry Constantino briefed guests on what to expect for this year’s trade fair.

    Drinktec 2017 will span five days and take up 15 exhibition halls, occupying 150,000 square metres of floor space. About 1,600 exhibitors from over 70 countries and more than 70,000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected to attend the fair.

    The trade fair will cover the entire process chain of the beverage and liquid food industry including manufacturing, filling, packaging, marketing, raw materials and logistics.

    About 80,000 square metres will be devoted to product-specific process technology for manufacturing and processing beverages, milk and liquid food. Part of this area will be reserved specifically for PET technology.

    For the first time ever, the International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition (SIMEI), organized by the Unione Italiana Vini (UIV) will be taking place as part of Drinktec, maintaining its two-year cycle, but the venue of which will alternate between Italy and Germany. SIMEI will cover all areas of wine technology.

    Apart from these, Messe München will also be providing specific areas for raw materials and ingredients, beer brewing, a forum for sharing professional technological insights, and a platform to showcase new beverage concepts for the future called the Innovation Flow Lounge.
