The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary- Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila Chapter (UAPSA-PLM) will be starting the new normal of the academic year 2021-2022 with an online review event with a theme of movement entitled “RETROGRADE: A Cognitive Reprise”. This most-awaited event will be held on August 31 to September 3, 2021, at its Facebook group exclusively for participants of the said event. Retrograde is open to all architecture students who wish to learn, explore, meet new people, and join the fun.
This year’s Online Review is made extra special as UAPSA-PLM, in partnership with Project Pagsibol, has decided to organize RETROGRADE as a beneficiary event for local farmers to help them connect to the market in the middle of these tough times.
Retrograde will tackle a summary of lectures and topics from the first year to the fourth year in order to serve as a refresher course and give architecture students a head start before the academic year officially begins, which will surely reignite the passion and excitement of what the architecture field has to offer.
Aside from lectures, there are also other exciting programs awaiting students like “The Amazing Race” wherein groups of randomized participants from different schools and year levels will be playing on different architecture-allied Station Games. This will not only test the creative juices of students but also encourage them to socialize with new people. There will also be an “Online Exhibit” that would give architecture students an opportunity to showcase their skills and talents.
The pandemic has surely taken a huge change for the economic and education sector. Given the event’s goals, it will surely give students a refreshing start & a helping hand for the academic year.
Retrograde: A Cognitive Reprise is in partnership with D+C Architectural and Engineering Stuff, Joli’s España, Precision Woodworks Drafting Tables & Boards, Project Workshop PH, Creo PH, D’zine; event partnership by (Project Pagsibol).
