The Polytechnic University of the Philippines was taken over by music, mayhem, and a few extraterrestrials. PUP Polysound Band, the university’s resident band organization, staged the fourth iteration of its annual concert, MusiKoYan: Selebrasyon ng Musika ng
mga Iskolar ng Bayan
, last October 30, 2026, at the PUP Gymnasium.

Staged as part of the university’s 122nd founding anniversary celebration, MusiKoYan has been a home for original PUPian music since 2023. Each year, it puts budding student artists front and center, with the occasional guest artist joining the bill. This year, that guest was neytan, the young singer-songwriter behind fan favorites such as “ano lasa ng pag-ibig? edi tipaklong” and “ikaw lang ang bossing ko.”

Under the theme “Wreak Havoc,” this year’s lineup cast a wider net than ever. Beyond current students, the stage also welcomed PUP alumni acts such as Tidal and FaceFirst, while Daisy blended alumni and currently enrolled students in one sound.

Rounding out the havoc were Lava Pie, the Pocari Sweat PH Live Your Dream University Caraband Champion, and Anonymous Platypus, the high-energy duo returning from last year’s lineup. Together, the acts reflected what MusiKoYan had always stood for: original music by PUPians, for PUPians.

Welcoming alumni back also turned the concert into a kind of homecoming. For students, it was a chance to perform their own songs before a hometown crowd. For the graduates, it was a chance to return to the place where their sound took shape. It celebrated how far PUP’s musicians have come and where the next generation is headed.

The chaos wasn’t be limited to the stage. With an alien invasion as the event’s concept, attendees were encouraged to come in their best Halloween costumes. Whether you arrived as an extraterrestrial, a space explorer, or something entirely out of this world, the night was made for dressing up and letting loose.

PUP Polysound Band invited PUPians from all campuses and outsiders alike to join this celebration of OPM. The doors officially opened at 9:25 AM. Pre-registration was opened through the band’s official pages on Facebook (PUP Polysound Band) and Instagram (@puppolysoundband). Walk-ins were also welcome.

Whether you were there for the guest artist, the homegrown talent, or the costumes, MusiKoYan 2026 promised a night where the music was original, the crowd was loud, and the havoc was welcome, celebrating 122 years of PUP with the sounds of its own Iskolars.
