Proving its commitment to continuously elevate the level of service to motorists and other stakeholders, the NLEX Corporation has obtained ISO certification for another three years for complying with integrated management system standards in quality, environment, and occupational health and safety.
Issued by DQS Holdings GmbH, one of the leading certification bodies for management systems worldwide, NLEX obtained ISO certifications for the latest versions of the following:
- ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System
- ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management System
- ISO 45001: 2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management System
The ISO certification is an international standard that recognizes companies that adopt optimal procedures to consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements; manage environmental responsibilities; and protect the health and safety of workers.
“This is part of our continuing journey to business excellence. Our well-established management systems enabled us to adapt to changes and ensure sustainability of our operations. Though faced with the challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to improve the company’s processes, preserve the environment, and care for the health and safety of our employees, with the ultimate goal of enhancing our customer service,” said NLEX Corporation president and general manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.
NLEX has been an ISO-certified company since 2008, implementing streamlined processes and providing its customers with high quality service measured against a global benchmark.
“Our recertification achievement assures that despite the disruptions caused by the global health crisis, we can ensure the quality of service that we offer to our customers,” Bautista added.
In another development, the tollway company is looking forward to another accreditation as it currently pursues Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS) or ISO 39001 certification. NLEX Corporation has instituted and implemented various programs to uphold road safety such as the continuous maintenance and upgrade of NLEX-SCTEX assets and facilities; implementation of traffic laws; conduct of lectures and distribution of materials on safe driving practices and series of roadshows encouraging motorists to do their part in keeping the roads safe.
NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).
