The GAC E8 HEV is positioned as a family-focused hybrid MPV for buyers who want to move into electrified driving without changing the way they refuel.
It sits at the center of GAC Philippines’ expanded MPV family, alongside the GN6 with an internal-combustion engine and the GN8 PHEV Executive. The E8 HEV uses a self-charging hybrid system and is designed around three priorities that matter in daily family use: adaptable space, long-distance range, and a more premium passenger experience.
18 cabin configurations
The E8 HEV’s Magic Storage seating system can be arranged in 18 different configurations, allowing the cabin to shift between passenger and cargo duties.
With all three rows in use, the MPV can serve as a seven-seat family vehicle. When more cargo capacity is needed, the third row folds completely flat into the floor, increasing luggage space from 345 liters to 1,917 liters.
The third row can also be transformed through Tea Break Mode, which creates an outward-facing lounge arrangement for stops during longer trips. This adds another layer of flexibility beyond the usual fold-flat seating layout.
More comfort in the second row
Second-row passengers get independent captain’s seats mounted on extended rails.
On the GX variant, these are upgraded to One-Touch Zero Gravity Captain’s Seats with ventilation, massage functions, and powered leg rests. The setup gives the E8 HEV a stronger executive-MPV feel while still keeping the cabin practical for family use.
Up front, the dashboard combines an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.6-inch central touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging and seven USB ports are also included to support passengers across all three rows.
182PS and 300Nm from the hybrid system
The E8 HEV pairs a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine with an electric drive motor and a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission.
Total system output is rated at 182PS, while the electric drive motor delivers 300Nm of torque. The setup is intended to give the MPV smoother, more responsive acceleration in both urban and highway driving.
The 2-speed DHT is also designed to reduce shift shock and excessive engine revving, helping create a more linear driving experience for passengers.
More than 1,000km of claimed range
Efficiency is one of the E8 HEV’s key selling points.
GAC lists fuel consumption at 5.58L/100km from the hybrid system and a 60-liter fuel tank, resulting in a claimed driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers. Because it is a conventional hybrid rather than a plug-in hybrid, there is no need to recharge from an external source.
That makes it a more straightforward transition for households that want better fuel efficiency without depending on home or public charging infrastructure.
Introductory pricing starts at PHP1.778 million
The GAC E8 HEV is offered in two variants.
The GL has an SRP of PHP1,858,000, while the GX is priced at PHP1,998,000. Until September 30, 2026, both variants come with PHP80,000 introductory savings, bringing prices down to PHP1,778,000 for the GL and PHP1,918,000 for the GX.
The E8 is available in Crystal White and Elegant Black, both with an all-black interior.
Warranty and ownership support
GAC Philippines backs its PHEV and HEV models, including the E8, with a 5-year or 150,000km basic warranty, whichever comes first.
The power battery, driving motor, and motor control unit are covered for 8 years or 150,000km. Owners also get access to GAC’s nationwide dealer network, local parts support, and two years of free roadside assistance.
