Ford Philippines marked this year’s Global Caring Month with a series of volunteer activities involving employees, dealers, and partner organizations across several communities.

The month-long program focused on elderly care, community development, education, social welfare, and youth support, with activities conducted in partnership with Gawad Kalinga, the American Chamber Foundation, Cartwheel Foundation, and other organizations.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS IN DAVAO

Ford Davao volunteers worked with the Philippine Eagle Foundation and Indigenous Peoples leaders from six communities in Davao City.

Activities began in Davao City with the ceremonial unveiling of outdoor classroom projects for six Indigenous Peoples communities, organized with the Philippine Eagle Foundation and Ford Davao.

Volunteers took part in arts and crafts, storytelling, birdwatching, cultural discussions, entrepreneurial coaching, and meet-and-greet sessions with community members.

The activities combined education, community engagement, and support for local cultural initiatives.

SUPPORT FOR ELDERLY COMMUNITIES

Ford volunteers distributed food, medicines, vitamins, and other essentials to residents of Tahanan ng Mahal na Ina ng Guadalupe.

Ford and dealer volunteers also joined an elderly care program at Tahanan ng Mahal na Ina ng Guadalupe, a residential home managed by the Missionary Sisters of Evangelization.

The facility provides nursing care, social work, medical assistance, and spiritual support to homeless, abandoned, and impoverished elderly women, and currently serves 25 residents.

Volunteers from Ford Philippines and Ford Batangas brought food, vitamins, medicines, groceries, and other essentials, and spent time with the residents through social activities.

BAYANIHAN IN CAVITE

Ford Philippines managing director Pedro Simoes participated in repainting activities during the Gawad Kalinga community project.

One of the largest activities took place at Gawad Kalinga PNOC Olaes Village in Cavite, where more than 40 Ford Philippines employees participated in a community improvement effort led by Ford Philippines managing director Pedro Simoes.

Volunteers repainted homes, schools, livelihood structures, a basketball court, and a multipurpose hall.

They also prepared Bayong ng Pag-Asa packages containing food essentials and vegetables for more than 120 families in the community.

SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN IN BATANGAS AND PARAÑAQUE

Ford volunteers also visited the Rev. Fr. Vincenzo Idà Children’s Home in Batangas, an independent nonprofit organization that provides care for neglected, orphaned, abandoned, surrendered, and foundling children in CALABARZON.

The volunteers spent time with the children and helped provide essential supplies.

Ford also began a partnership with Cartwheel Foundation to support Indigenous children through culturally relevant education, nourishment, and engagement. As part of the initiative, volunteers prepared meals, provided tutoring, and supported psychosocial activities for children in Parañaque.

OUTREACH IN PAMPANGA

Ford employees supported children with special needs through outreach activities at Little Angels Home Inc. and Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth in Pampanga.

CONTINUING BEYOND GLOBAL CARING MONTH

“Global Caring Month is an opportunity for us to come together as a Ford family and reaffirm our commitment to giving back to the communities around us,” said Kent Primor, director for Government and Corporate Affairs at Ford Philippines.

“While these activities are an important part of our efforts, our work does not end with Global Caring Month. We are continuing this commitment beyond September focused on supporting communities and creating meaningful impact.”

The activities form part of Ford’s annual Global Caring Month initiative, which brings employees and partners together for community-focused volunteer programs.
