Honda Foundation, Inc. has expanded its road safety education efforts through the Students on Safety Program, conducted in partnership with the Department of Education Schools Division Office of Santa Rosa City, participating schools, and the city government.
The program reached 11 public schools in Santa Rosa, Laguna and involved more than 380 students aged 16 and above, together with some faculty members.
ROAD SAFETY LESSONS FOR YOUNG ROAD USERS

The Students on Safety Program is designed to bring road safety education closer to young Filipinos through school-based learning.
Honda Safety Driving Center-certified instructors led sessions focused on safe mobility habits, responsible road use, and the mindset needed to make better decisions on the road.
The program also included practical activities intended to make the lessons more engaging and easier for students to apply in real-world situations.
PRACTICAL LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

The training combined road safety awareness with hands-on demonstrations.
Students learned responsible behavior for different road-use situations, reinforcing the idea that road safety depends not only on vehicle operation but also on awareness, discipline, and consideration for other road users.
By introducing students to these lessons before many become regular drivers or riders, Honda aims to encourage safer habits early on.
PART OF HONDA’S BROADER SAFETY EFFORTS
The Students on Safety Program forms part of Honda Foundation’s wider road safety advocacy across communities and generations.
Honda says the initiative supports its efforts to help reduce road crash fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles, while contributing to the company’s global goal of achieving zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050.
The program also encourages students to carry road safety principles into their everyday journeys and influence safer behavior within their families and communities.
BUILDING A CULTURE OF RESPONSIBLE ROAD USE
Honda Foundation positions road safety as a shared responsibility that extends beyond drivers and riders alone.
Through partnerships with schools, local government, and education stakeholders, the foundation is using the Students on Safety Program to reinforce safer mobility habits among young people before they become more active road users.
The initiative is also intended to strengthen awareness that safe communities depend on consistent choices by pedestrians, passengers, cyclists, riders, and motorists alike.
