VinFast is deploying 11 VF MPV 7 electric vehicles as the official fleet for delegates from ASEAN Dialogue Partners participating in the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting and its Associated Meetings from October 5 to 8, 2026.
The deployment puts the seven-seat electric MPV into service during one of ASEAN’s key ministerial gatherings on energy cooperation, where regional officials and partners will discuss energy security, renewable energy, efficiency, infrastructure, and the broader transition to more sustainable energy systems.
SUPPORTING ASEAN ENERGY DIALOGUE
The 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting will bring together energy ministers and senior officials from ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners, and international organizations.
As ASEAN’s principal ministerial platform for energy cooperation, the meeting provides strategic direction on regional priorities including energy security, clean and renewable energy deployment, energy efficiency, and greater connectivity and integration of energy systems across Southeast Asia.
Discussions will also cover emerging technologies, investment, and infrastructure development as the region works to meet growing energy demand while improving resilience and sustainability.
11 ELECTRIC MPVS FOR DELEGATE MOBILITY
As the official mobility partner for this year’s meeting, VinFast will provide 11 VF MPV 7 units for delegate transportation.
The company positions the deployment as an opportunity to demonstrate battery-electric mobility in day-to-day event operations while supporting a regional meeting focused heavily on energy transition and sustainability.
Using electric vehicles during the event also places sustainable mobility within the broader discussion of ASEAN’s future energy ecosystem.
SEVEN-SEAT ELECTRIC MPV
The VF MPV 7 was launched in the Philippines in May 2026 and is positioned as VinFast’s premium seven-seater for family use.
It offers three rows of seating and up to 1,240 liters of cargo capacity, giving it the flexibility to carry passengers and luggage for both everyday and longer-distance use.
Power comes from a 60.13kWh battery paired with a 150kW electric motor producing 280Nm of torque. VinFast rates the vehicle for up to 450km of driving range on a full charge under NEDC standards.
EVS WITHIN THE ENERGY TRANSITION
VinFast’s participation also extends to the ASEAN Energy Business Forum, which brings together stakeholders working on energy, infrastructure, and sustainability initiatives.
For the automaker, the event provides a platform to position electric vehicles as part of the region’s broader energy transition, particularly as governments and industry explore how transport electrification connects with cleaner energy systems and infrastructure development.
The company says it is continuing to expand its presence across Southeast Asia through electric vehicles, charging solutions, ownership services, and aftersales support.
BUILDING AN EV ECOSYSTEM
VinFast frames its regional strategy around an integrated electric mobility ecosystem rather than vehicle sales alone.
That approach includes electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, ownership support, and aftersales services intended to make EV use more practical across different markets.
The deployment of the VF MPV 7 at the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting gives the company an opportunity to demonstrate one part of that ecosystem in an institutional setting while regional policymakers and industry leaders discuss the future of energy and sustainable mobility.
