Starmobile continues to enable Filipino students to enjoy the benefits of technology as it provides the latest tablets and smartphones to elementary and college students.
Caniogan Elementary School
In partnership with the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), Starmobile has provided ENGAGE 7i+ and ENGAGE Aura units which have been pre-installed with educational apps to Caniogan Elementary School in Morong, Rizal.
According to KCFI Director Edric Calma, the tablets will be a means to augment Caniogan Elementary School’s Digital Learning Platform (DLP) classroom. The tablets, which will be used beginning AY 2017 – 2018 is the school’s first foray into touchscreen based learning.
As a special treat for students during its recognition day, Starmobile also gave away several PLAY Five units. One lucky recipient was 11-year-old honor student Ranakin Tabios who has been living with her grandmother for the past year. Her new phone, she says, will be her first means of communicating directly with her parents who live in Navotas.
Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Asia Pacific College
Budding videographers from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and Asia Pacific College (APAC) are given the chance to create their own movie masterpieces which they can then submit to the Kwentong Star University Contest which will run until the end of 2017. Up for grabs are PLAY Lite, PLAY Five, and UNO B208 phones for all the contestants. Winners and their works will be featured in the official Starmobile Facebook page.
“We are honored to be able to pay it forward,” said Starmobile brand marketing manager Martin Mauhay. “In our own way, we, as a Filipino company are able to inspire the next generation of Filipinos as they try to reach for their own stars.”
