The ride-hailing mobile app, Uber, has requested a fare adjustment to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Through the company’s submitted petition, partner-drivers can earn a higher income. This will also mean an increase to the rider’s fare. Under the new proposal, the fare per kilometer for uberX will range from ₱9.00 to ₱12.00 depending on the time of day. However, the base fare and time charge will remain the same.
Due to the increasing fuel prices and new excise taxes on petroleum, meeting the requirements under the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines (OFG) to further improve safety and quality of service became the main factors of the said fare increase made by Uber.
There are no words yet regarding the result of the petition filed by the app-based transport service.
