EY, a global leader in Assurance, Tax, Transaction and Advisory Services and a member of Ernst & Young Global Limited, launches its front-line cybersecurity center in Manila.

The multi-million facility sits out of EY’s Global Delivery Services (EY GDS) and a revolutionary expansion of the global Cybersecurity services, playing an important role to reaffirm EY’s leading position in helping organizations mitigate cyber risks and strengthen cyber resilience.

According to EY’s own security survey, 77 percent of organizations operate with limited cybersecurity and resilience. The research also found out that 87 percent of the respondents do not have a sufficient budget to provide the levels of cybersecurity they want.

The new facility offers highly automated security services including triaged incident response services, threat hunting and threat protection powered by security orchestration, automation, and response.

Carlitos Cruz (EY Philippines chairman and managing partner), Ashok Mario Pereira (EY GDS Philippines advisory leader), Mary Elizabeth Porray (EY GDS client services leader), Maria Elizabeth de Guzman (EY GDS Philippines cybersecurity leader), Jose Carlos Reyes (Dept. of Information and Communications Technology Director), Gemma Epifania Gaerlan (EY GDS Philippines location leader) led the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to inaugurate the opening of the EY GDS Manila Cybersecurity Office

“We operate in a vast digital landscape and cyber risks are evolving. Attackers can hit us on machine speed while many organizations are still responding on human speed. Our new GDS Manila cybersecurity ce4enter is strategically built to continue to raise awareness and defences through the latest technology and innovation against emerging threats as we develop forward-looking cybersecurity services for EY clients,” said Maria Elizabeth de Guzman, location leader, EY GDS Cybersecurity.

For Arun Batra, EY GDS advisory leader, the state-of-the-art cybersecurity operations center in Manila will help the company address the security needs of its global and APAC clients. The facility also aims to bridge the demand-supply gap of cybersecurity professionals by linking the Manila headquarters to other GDS cybersecurity facilities located in India, Poland and China, as well as other EY cybersecurity centers in Singapore, Melbourne and Dallas.

“Philippines and Cybersecurity are two of our biggest growth drivers within EY GDS. The new state of the art center will help us generate more employment opportunities in Manila. It is completely equipped to defend security threats for EY clients in the digital world,” said Vinod Jayaprakash, cybersecurity leader, EY GDS.
