Oppo recently toured ASEAN consulate generals, including those from the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, and Laos, around its manufacturing plant at its headquarters in Dongguan, China. The guests were able to immerse themselves in the manufacturing process of Oppo smartphones.
The visit also further strengthens Oppo’s future investment in the ASEAN region, in line with brand’s vision to better service those markets. Oppo also took the opportunity to announce that it will be establishing its APAC center in Malaysia, making it the fourth region operation center after Gurugram, Dubai, and Düsseldorf.
“With the support of ASEAN countries, we can fully utilize our advantages in technology, design, production and retail to drive economic growth and create more jobs. As we are stepping into the 5G era, we are building an intelligent connectivity ecosystem as the next driving force to strengthen the local development in the region,“ said Jimmy Yi, President of OPPO Asia Pacific.
“We definitely welcome more companies like OPPO, to enter our markets and contribute towards the development of our local economy, technology and talents. In regards to OPPO’s development in ASEAN, we are more than happy to provide support and service,” said the ASEAN consulate-generals.
During the visit, Oppo also recounted the company’s history, and shared the business outlook in the APAC region. Since entering the Thai market in 2009, Oppo has been thriving with innovative technologies, high-quality products, a localized approach in operations, and customer services. Placing consumers at the center of the business enabled Oppo to achieve an astonishing growth to today ranking top two in the region according to the latest market report.
Today Oppo has more than 52,000 retail stores across the APAC region, offering a comprehensive product portfolio that combines leading-edge technology and design. Moving forward, OPPO has ambitious plans on attracting more international talent, strengthening the strong partnerships with local electronics retailers and network carriers in the region to push the business forward.
Working hand-in-hand with ASEAN countries is an effort to expand horizons and diversify in order to continue innovating alongside fast-paced market trends. Expanding the business to IoT and mobile internet services is an integral part of OPPO’s strategic global presence in the age of intelligent connectivity.
