International mobile brand Gionee recently unveiled its flagship smartphone, the ELife S5.5. The latest addition to Gionee’s mobile offerings has already bagged more than a handful of world records, including being declared by CBS Interactive ZOL as the world’s slimmest smartphone.
The ELife S5.5 is no slouch when it comes to specs even though it is only 5.6mm thin. The heart of the unit is an octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A7 processor which enables it to smoothly run high definition movies and demanding apps. 2GB RAM and a Mali-450MP4 GPU are also on hand for multitasking, gaming, and graphics-intensive work. Powering the whole phone is a non-removable Li-Ion 2300 mAh battery clocked at 11 hours 3G talk time. The only down side to the phone’s innards is its measly 16 GB non-expandable storage which really limits what you can have on your device.
These specs are encased by 98% metal and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that ensure the phone’s durability. Upfront is the phone’s 5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1080×1920 resolution and a wonderful 441 ppi pixel density equating to bright and vivid colors. Below the screen are the Back, Home, and Options capacitive buttons, while above it is the wide-angle 5 MP front camera. At the back is the phone’s primary camera which is a 13 MP snapper with autofocus and LED flash. Pictures and videos captured through these cameras can be edited on the go with the preloaded image and video editor.
The phone ships in with Android 4.2 Jellybean but can be upgraded to 4.4.2 Kitkat. The ELife S5.5 is already available at all major retailers with a price tag of PHP 21,999.00.
