The Batangas Society of Industrial Engineering Students (BSIES), will once again host its annual Provincial Congress, entitled the “7th BSIES Congress,” with the theme “In Più: Industrial Engineers Navigating the Path Towards Innovation through Academic Competence,” which will take place on March 18, 2023, at the Claro M. Recto Events Center, Lipa City, Batangas.
The event will be one day of full face-to-face after years of the pandemic that hinders this kind of set-up, with the morning featuring academic competitions of Innovation and Design, Case Study, and Quiz Show followed by a Seminar discussion with the theme “In Search: Exploring the Application of Lean in the Evolving Industry” in the afternoon, highlighting their areas of expertise.
The academic competitions welcome entries from partnered schools and for all Industrial Engineering students in all year levels inside and outside of Batangas to exhibit their potential in solving real-life problems through designing their solution and to maximize their potential and growth. This competition is dedicated to showcasing students’ knowledge, skills, and creativity in addressing and resolving issues while utilizing a variety of Industrial Engineering concepts and applications.
By developing a shared sense of purpose that nurtures knowledge and skills, this competition may be a great opportunity to enhance the academic quality, integrity, and empowerment of Industrial Engineering students in the face of adversity.
The seminar, which will be held in the afternoon, will tackle the advantages of Lean manufacturing in the industry. It is designed to introduce the fundamentals of Lean manufacturing and its principles by focusing on the application of Lean practices and tools in the manufacturing sector.
Furthermore, this event will offer a range of theme-based theories, concepts, and industrial practices given by distinguished speakers and representatives from respectable organizations and enterprises, with the purpose of being educational and engaging to all IE students. It is a gathering of Industrial Engineering students and professionals from around the province, in the pursuit of unbounded Industrial Engineering excellence.
As the BSIES remains steadfast as the primary organization for Industrial Engineering students in the province of Batangas, are committed to providing excellent services for holistic improvement and development, despite the current challenges.
The BSIES hopes that this year’s theme will inspire industrial engineers to broaden and diversify their ideas in order to maximize progress. This allows participants to recognize excellence in the abilities required to meet and surpass an enhanced goal.
