Annually, the Department of Management and Marketing holds a General Assembly to introduce the community to the role, functions, and services this department provides under Adamson University. In collaboration with the Adamson Junior Marketing Association and the Junior Management Association, both organizations worked alongside each other to create an effective program that will lead Vincentian Business students to an innovative future. Organizing the event has been a series of cumulative skills that were enriched from previous experiences leading to the successful production of the event.

On the day of the General Assembly, the officers worked together by preparing the necessary materials, ushers, booths, and supplementary tools to be the foundation of the event’s success. To open the event, Dr. Amy Daraway, the Chairperson of the Management and Marketing Department, welcomed the community and reminded the audience to take the pathway of Digital Advancement as it is now the core of decision-making, problem-solving, and foundation of the business world, especially as Marketing & Management students who will soon be the trailblazers of the business field. This led to the College of Business Administration’s Dean, Dr. Nayve who inspired the community to also make use of the opportunities provided by the department.

The event continued with Ms. Rizaldo and Ms. Ventura from the Library Department, who tackled the library’s features and services. The session has been incredibly helpful in teaching the students how to better navigate the library and find the resources they need, such as various learning materials available online and physically, simulation spaces for group huddles, and even services that students really would benefit from, such as printing & computer access.

In the next segment, Ms. Mondano, the Head of the Guidance Department, presented the guidance department’s role in providing support for students in terms of academic or personal situations as they offer counseling, career guidance, and a safe space for anyone seeking clarity, encouragement, or simply someone to talk to. To further enhance the knowledge of the students regarding the importance of student safety and welfare, the Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Atty. Navallasca highlighted crucial topics about maintaining a respectful environment, particularly focusing on the firm implementation of the Safe Spaces Act. Additionally, the office encouraged the students to only join recognized student organizations for the safety and future of the students.

The General Assembly introduced Marketistas (Marketing Students) and OMeyts (Operations Students) to the new faculty members, emphasizing their role and how they are responsible for the successful education and professional development of their students. Along with this is the presentation of the department’s goals and achievements for the academic year to inspire the marketing community to be active— may it be internal or external activities, to further strengthen and embody the virtues of a Vincentian Student Leader. It also became an opportunity for AdJMA and JMA presidents to encourage their fellow Klasmeyts to be part of the organization’s growing family and discover more of themselves through the never-ending possibilities of growth and advancement in joining the organization.

Throughout the event, the organization never failed to give their heartfelt thanks to the generous and precious sponsors of the event by giving away their products to the enthusiastic marketistas in a raffle draw and event awarding those who made an effort to dress themselves for the event. What made the General Assembly more evidently successful was the heartfelt joy of every participant who attended the event, their active participation throughout every speaker’s presentation, and the interactive booths operating during the event, inspiring the attendees to participate due to the enjoyable and enriching event.
