The Entrepreneurial Students Society (ESS) of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)-Main Campus made waves with its successful freshmen orientation, “Uncharted Waters: Sailing in Your Entrepreneurial Journey,” held last November 18, 2025, via Microsoft Teams. New Entrepreneurship students logged in to the online event, ready to explore the challenges and opportunities of their entrepreneurial path.
It is designed to introduce freshmen to the ESS community and inspire an innovative mindset and meaningful discussions. Despite being held online, the orientation created a strong sense of community and excitement among participants.
One of the program’s most memorable moments was the keynote session featuring the Chairperson of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Dr. Kathelyn DJ. Samson and the successful PUP student entrepreneurs, who shared their stories of resilience, adaptability, and vision. Their journeys served as powerful reminders that entrepreneurship is not only about profit but also about purpose and persistence.
Interactive segments, including ice breaker games, allowed students to connect with peers and ESS officers. The program also introduced upcoming ESS projects and initiatives that encourage innovation and collaboration throughout the semester.
Through this event, ESS successfully built a foundation of community and ambition among new members. The event showcased the organization’s dedication to developing future business leaders and innovators.
