Once a student, and now a proud alumni of the Pio Elementary School (PVES) in Valenzuela City, Odilon A. Santos, the current president and CEO of Delsan Office Systems Corporation, recently gave back to his second home.
The place that once honed Santos holds a special place in his heart. As way of giving back, the Delsan office Systems Corporation, through DepEd’s Adopt-A-School program, generously donated several school equipment, as well as aided the renovation of the school’s building.
“I truly believe in the proverb, ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ Education fuels you towards doing meaningful things. It is the only treasure that no one can steal from you,” Santos says. Santos recalls that during his days as a Pio Elementary School student, tools and learning resources were very scarce. Eliminating the inconvenience caused by limited resources is what Santos hopes for, for the current students of his alma mater.
Through DepEd’s Adopt-A-School program, Delsan Office Systems Corporation, one of the country’s leading supplier of printing services and business process solutions, made a generous donation of 10 laser printers, and one projector to principal Lilibeth S. Gozo, and Adopt-A-School coordinator, Sammy B. Mariano. In a similar manner, the corporation also financed the renovation of the Gabaldon Building inside the Pio Valenzuela Elementary school.
Through the corporation’s donation to PVES, Santos hopes that their quality of education improves and likewise hopes for both the teachers and students of the school to the benefit from the upgraded and modernized school system.
