The Junior Marketing Association of the Philippines of Laguna State Polytechnic University – San Pablo City Campus (JMAP | LSPU – SPCC) successfully held its 1st annual webinar, “Voice of Success: Empowering Your Marketing Journey through Alumni Stories,” on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Livestreamed via Zoom and Facebook at JMAP LSPU – SPCC, the event united Marketing Management students from all LSPU campuses—San Pablo City, Sta. Cruz, Los Baños, and Siniloan—to gain insights into the realities of the marketing industry and the transition from student life to professional success.
This webinar featured two accomplished speakers, Ms. Fairee Diola, an account manager for Brand Communications at Storyscope Strategic Communications Group, and Ms. Gigi Robles, a Trade and Brand Marketing Supervisor at a Health & Beauty Retail Company. Ms. Diola shared how marketing presents limitless opportunities, especially for students who are still uncertain about their career paths. She emphasized that “Marketing isn’t just about branding or campaigns—it’s about purpose,” encouraging students to embrace their vision and creativity. She also reminded them that challenges are part of the journey, saying, “Pause if you need to,” underscoring the importance of balance and self-care. Meanwhile, Ms. Robles focused on the power of student leadership and how the values developed in school transcend into the corporate world. She highlighted the importance of teamwork, stating, “Papunta na kayo, halika, samahan ko kayo,” to emphasize that marketing is not just about competition but about uplifting and amplifying voices together. She also shared how personal branding plays a crucial role in career growth, saying, “Your personal brand is your career currency.”
Throughout the event, the speakers highlighted that marketing is a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry that requires adaptability and continuous learning. They encouraged students to embrace the mindset of “Be delulu, but be so for real,” meaning that while dreaming big is essential, staying grounded in reality is just as important. Marketing is not a race but a craft of storytelling, where success comes from seizing opportunities, building connections, and staying resilient.
The 1st annual webinar of JMAP | LSPU – SPCC was a resounding success, leaving students inspired and equipped with valuable insights to navigate their future careers. This event marks just the beginning of more initiatives aimed at empowering future marketers and shaping the next generation of industry leaders.
