MANILA l August 29, 2018: On its 11th year of providing scholarships to outstanding Filipino students through the Sharing the Dream program, SCG is extending the program coverage to college students to benefit more Filipino students. SCG introduced its first 10 college scholarship awardee, who will receive support until graduation, along with 300 high school student scholars in an awarding ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center. SCG has been operating in the Philippines since 1993 and is one of leading business conglomerates in the ASEAN region.
Encouraged by the positive results of its high school scholarship program, SCG decided to extend the scholarship program to cover passionate university scholars. With this year’s theme of “Passion for Better,” SCG seeks to encourage more high school students to pursue a college degree and further improve themselves for the better living and future contribution to society.
“As part of our commitment to help support the Philippines’ sustainable development by providing educational assistance to Filipino youth, SCG continues to offer scholarships to well-deserving students who show good academic performance, gratefulness to family, good attitude, dedication and passion to achieve a better life. We hope that these students will continue to grow as good and valuable citizens of the country and will not stop chasing their dreams,” said Country Director of SCG in the Philippines, Mr. Phaskorn Buranawit.

College scholarship applicants underwent a well-designed screening process aimed at identifying the most-outstanding and deserving beneficiaries. Applicants are Sharing the Dream scholars when they were studying high school who have a good academic record with a general weighted average (GWA) of 85 or higher. They must also have a strong motivation to pursue higher education and demonstrate great ambition to help develop the country.
The college scholars can enroll in any state university in the Philippines. Each scholar will receive Php25,000 worth of educational assistance per year until graduation on top of the annual trainings, workshops or human development program conducted by SCG to help them develop and improve their skills.
Below is the list of college students who made it through the SCG Sharing the Dream program for 2018 and will receive scholarship until graduation.

The Sharing the Dream program is an initiative that SCG has been organized and has been awarding 6,000 scholarships annually in many countries across ASEAN, namely the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. The program started in the Philippines in 2008. Since then, SCG has been actively opening opportunities for Filipino youth to study and achieve their dreams.
