ASUS Republic of Gamers has announced the ROG Cetra Open Wireless, an open-ear wireless earbud designed to deliver immersive audio while preserving real-world situational awareness. The earbuds are intended for gaming, music listening, and active lifestyles, combining low-latency wireless performance with an ergonomic, secure fit.

Key features and specifications
Dual-mode connectivity
The ROG Cetra Open Wireless supports two wireless connection options: standard Bluetooth for broad device compatibility, and ultra-low-latency ROG SpeedNova 2.4GHz wireless technology for gaming applications where audio-visual synchronization is critical. An included USB-C 2.4GHz dongle enables this connection and supports one-way passthrough charging, allowing users to charge a connected device while the earbuds remain in use.
Audio hardware and tuning
Audio is delivered through 14.2mm diaphragm drivers with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. This driver construction is designed to minimize distortion while improving clarity, producing crisp highs, deep bass, and a wider, more spacious soundstage compared to conventional earbud designs.
The earbuds include built-in audio presets that can be selected directly on the device. Phantom Bass enhances low-frequency perception for a fuller sound, while Immersion Mode reduces ambient noise to help users focus on games or content without completely blocking environmental awareness.
Open-ear design and controls
The open-ear form factor allows sound to be directed toward the ear without sealing the ear canal, enabling users to remain aware of their surroundings. Soft liquid silicone ear hooks provide a stable and comfortable fit for extended use. A detachable reflective neck strap is included to improve security and visibility during outdoor activities.
Instead of touch panels, the Cetra Open Wireless uses physical control buttons. These provide precise, tactile input and remain responsive during workouts, in wet conditions, or when the user is wearing gloves, while also reducing the risk of accidental commands.
Durability and battery performance
With an IPX5 splash-resistance rating, the earbuds are built to withstand sweat, rain, and everyday outdoor use. In Bluetooth mode, the ROG Cetra Open Wireless offers up to 16 hours of continuous playback on a full charge, with RGB lighting and on-board sound modes turned off and the microphone muted. Fast charging support enables up to three hours of listening time from a 15-minute charge.
Product positioning
The ROG Cetra Open Wireless extends ROG’s audio lineup with an open-ear alternative that combines gaming-grade wireless performance, on-device audio customization, and all-day comfort. It is positioned for users who want immersive sound and low latency without complete acoustic isolation, whether gaming, commuting, or engaging in active outdoor use.
