Pioneer Electronics AsiaCentre has expanded its A Series car multimedia lineup in the Philippines with the DMH-AP6850BT and DMH-AP8850BT, two large-screen receivers designed for aftermarket dashboard installations.
The DMH-AP6850BT uses a 9-inch display, while the DMH-AP8850BT steps up to 10 inches. Both feature WSVGA capacitive touchscreens with a 1024 x 600 resolution, Pioneer’s Perfect Form Shaped panel design, wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 64-bit digital sound processing.
LARGE-SCREEN SMARTPHONE CONNECTIVITY
Both receivers support wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving drivers access to compatible navigation, communication, music, and other smartphone functions through the in-dash display.
The two models also support WebLink Cast and WebLink Browser, although their implementation differs. On the DMH-AP6850BT, WebLink Cast is wired, while the DMH-AP8850BT supports both wireless and wired WebLink Cast.
Built-in Wi-Fi provides cable-free connectivity, while Bluetooth handles hands-free calls and wireless audio streaming. The DMH-AP6850BT uses Bluetooth 5.3, while the DMH-AP8850BT moves to Bluetooth 5.4.
64-BIT DSP FOR MORE CONTROL OVER SOUND
Both models use an AKM AK7604 64-bit digital signal processor, paired with a 13-band graphic equalizer, three-way network crossover, time alignment, and listening-position adjustment.
A MOSFET amplifier delivers 50W x 4, while three 4V RCA pre-outs allow owners to expand their systems with external amplifiers or other audio components.
Pioneer has also incorporated a dedicated thermal cooling system intended to keep performance stable during extended drives and high-volume listening.
DMH-AP6850BT: 9-INCH EVERYDAY OPTION
The DMH-AP6850BT is the smaller of the two, using a 9-inch WSVGA capacitive touchscreen in the Perfect Form Shaped chassis.
It includes one-touch Direct Key access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a dedicated reconnect button. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.3 and single-band 5GHz Wi-Fi, while USB Quick Charge at 1.5A and support for formats including FLAC and H.264 round out its multimedia features.
The receiver also supports a rear-view camera with on-screen parking guidelines and can accommodate a 360-degree panoramic camera system using an optional adapter.
DMH-AP8850BT: 10-INCH FLAGSHIP MODEL
The DMH-AP8850BT increases screen size to 10 inches and adds several features over the 9-inch model.
WebLink Cast works wirelessly and over a wired connection, while four dedicated hardware buttons provide direct access to Home, Voice Command, Volume Up, and Volume Down. Bluetooth 5.4 is standard, and Waze navigation is supported through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Audio hardware remains similar to the DMH-AP6850BT, including the 64-bit AKM DSP, 13-band EQ, MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifier, and three 4V RCA pre-outs.
CAMERA AND VEHICLE INTEGRATION
Both A Series receivers support steering-wheel controls and a rear camera with on-screen parking guidelines.
An optional adapter enables 360-degree panoramic camera support, extending visibility around the vehicle during low-speed maneuvering and parking.
Selected CAN Bus interfaces from Hiworld, Raise, and SimpleSoft can also retain compatible OEM vehicle functions. Depending on the vehicle and interface, these can include climate-control information, fuel monitoring, service alerts, and vehicle gauges displayed through the receiver.
