Understanding the importance of being vaccinated, Asahi Beverages Philippines, the local subsidiary of Asahi Holdings Southeast Asia (AHSEA), is donating PHP14.6-million worth of Goodday Cultured Milk across seven local government units (LGUs) and offices nationwide to showcase its support as part of its Vaccine for the Body, Goodday for the Tummy campaign.

As part of its campaign, Asahi Beverages PH will be donating Goodday products to the Office of the Vice President, as well as the cities of Manila, Pasig, Valenzuela in Luzon, Cebu City, and Cebu Province in the Visayas, and Davao City in Mindanao.

Goodday Cultured Milk Drink is a heat-treated paraprobiotic with Lactobacillus Paracasei MCC1849 that improves natural resistance to intestinal infection and overall gut health. By donating to select LGUs nationwide, Asahi Beverages PH advocates for healthy living and ensures the availability of these choices to Filipinos across the country.

Recently, Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto personally received the donation to the city of Pasig. Sotto said, “Joint efforts by the government and private sectors are always welcome, especially now as we fight against COVID-19. Aside from the ongoing vaccination drive, Pasigueños will have the added benefit of being fortified with Goodday’s nutritious cultured milk.”

“Filipinos should be more conscious of their health now more than ever. It’s important for us to keep our resistance up and boost immunity as we continue to live through the pandemic. Through our donation, we aim to instill hope and reinforce healthy living choices among our fellow Filipinos,” said Tommy Del Mar, vice president for sales and marketing of Asahi Beverages Philippines.

As of June 14, 104,231 individuals received the first shot of the vaccine and another 43,061 individuals have been fully inoculated in the City of Pasig according to the city’s Public Information Office Facebook Page. The local government hopes to complete vaccinations for even more constituents in the coming weeks.

“We understand that there may still be lingering doubts about the vaccine, but we hope that through the government and the private sector’s combined efforts Filipinos will realize that getting vaccinated is the best chance we have at making it through this pandemic and that the best vaccine is the one that’s available,” Del Mar added.

Goodday products have also already been turned over to Manila City, Valenzuela City, Davao City and Cebu province where mayor Francisco Domagoso, mayor Rex Gatchalian, mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and governor Gwendolyn Garcia, respectively, personally received the donations for their constituents.

Other cities that are set to receive their own supply of the cultured milk drink are Cebu City and the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

Goodday comes in three flavors specifically designed to appeal to Filipino taste preference––Original, Mango, and Strawberry. It is available in 80ml and 350ml bottles at convenience stores and leading supermarkets nationwide. It can also be ordered online through LazMart and S-Mart by Shopee.
