Starbucks Philippines has introduced a multi-tier Starbucks Rewards system that gives members more control over when and how they redeem their Stars. The updated program went live on July 21, 2026, alongside a new Starbucks PH App across more than 500 stores nationwide.
The change replaces the automatic Star-conversion model used since 2019. Instead of automatically receiving a voucher every time they reach 100 Stars, members can now choose from three redemption tiers beginning at 50 Stars.
More choices across three reward tiers
Under the updated system, Starbucks Rewards members may redeem 50 Stars for a free drink customization or selected bakery products. Eligible bakery choices include a bagel, glazed or chocolate-dipped doughnut, or a slice of banana loaf.
At 100 Stars, members can redeem any handcrafted beverage or bakery item, subject to listed exclusions. The handcrafted beverage reward does not cover the Coffee Traveler Kit, French Press, or Reserve Ice Cream beverages.
A new 150-Star tier expands redemption to selected food items, including pasta, sandwiches, and cake slices. Members must select and issue their chosen reward through the Starbucks PH App before ordering at the counter.
Members decide when to redeem
The previous Starbucks Rewards structure automatically converted every 100 Stars into a voucher for a free drink, bakery item, or cake slice. Under the multi-tier system, Stars remain available until members choose the reward they want to issue.
This gives customers more control over how they use their accumulated Stars. It also expands the reward range to cover drink customizations and more substantial food choices, while lowering the entry point for redemption from 100 Stars to 50.
New Starbucks PH App required
All members must migrate to the new Starbucks PH App, which is available through the App Store and Google Play. The previous version of the app will be discontinued, although existing members do not need to register again.
Account credentials, accumulated Stars, and available Starbucks Card load balances will transfer automatically to the new app. New users may create an account using a personal email address, while existing members will be able to sign in using their current account details.
The new app also introduces faster sign-in and real-time Star tracking. However, Mobile Order & Pay will be temporarily unavailable at launch and will return in a future update, with the schedule still to be announced.
Voucher validity remains unchanged
Reward vouchers remain valid for 90 days from the time they are issued through the app. Since the countdown begins only after a member chooses and issues a reward, customers can retain their Stars until they are ready to redeem them.
Stars must still be converted into reward vouchers within one year. Any unconverted Stars will expire on the member’s annual account anniversary, based on the date the Starbucks Rewards account was first registered.
Expanded rewards across the menu
Starbucks Philippines describes the update as a move toward greater flexibility and choice within its loyalty program. By adding lower and higher redemption levels, the system accommodates members who want a simple customization as well as those saving their Stars for a drink or food item.
The multi-tier structure also extends rewards to nearly the entire menu, including products that were not previously available through Star redemption. Members can review the available tiers, monitor their balance, and issue rewards through the new Starbucks PH App.
