Demonstrating its excellence in investment and fund management, EastWest won the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Philippines’ Best Managed Funds of the Year 2020 in the Peso–FVPL category for its Peso Long Term Bond last September 15. The EastWest Peso Long Term Bond has the highest risk-based returns over the past five years in its category. The recognition was given in an awarding ceremony held via video conferencing.

“This is a testament to our efforts in providing the best possible returns to our clients, and more importantly, practicing the highest possible standards of ethics and investment excellence,” said Rafael S. Algarra Jr., EastWest SEVP & head of treasury, markets and off-balance sheet.

“Congratulations to all the winners! The best and most consistent risk-based returns are important for investors who put their hard-earned money in the hands of the fund managers,” said Dr. Robert R. Ramos, president and chairman of CFA Society Philippines.

The EastWest Peso Long Term Bond is one of the bank’s unit investment trust fund (UITF) products, aiming to provide investors the potential to earn long-term returns higher than traditional bank deposits. The fund is invested in government securities, corporate bonds, various fixed income securities, and time deposit. It is available at any EastWest store nationwide for an initial investment of only P50,000.
