Japanese global apparel brand, Uniqlo, recently unveils its latest fall and winter collection in partnership with the Finnish design company Marimekko.

The LifeWear lineup, which mostly consists of women’s apparel, is the second, limited-edition collection of the clothing brand. It is also the first one to offer items for girls and babies. These include leggings, knitted accessories, and HEATTECH socks.

“We are very excited to introduce our second limited-edition collection designed in collaboration with Marimekko, following the success of our 2018 Spring/Summer collection,” said Uniqlo head of Research & Development Yuki Katsuta. “I am also pleased to see Marimekko prints and colors on such UNIQLO LifeWear as cashmere, Ultra Light Down and HEATTECH for the very first time. What a beautiful way to stay warm in the coming winter months, while celebrating a touch of Finnish tradition.”

Some tops for women showcase Marimekko’s most famous prints such as Kivet (stones) designed by Maija Isola in 1956, Tasaraita (even stripe) designed by Annika Rimala in 1968 , and Siirtolapuutarha (city garden) designed by Maija Louekari in 2009. The said bold and colorful Marimekko prints are featured on the first Ultra Light Down Cocoon Coat, Wool Cashmere Hoodie, shirt dresses, and jumpsuits.

Combining iconic elements from both brands, Uniqlo LifeWear 2019 Fall and Winter collection brings to life the Finnish winter traditions of families enjoying the outdoors in the snowy forests and gathering them around the fireplace to warm up in their winter cabins.
