BMW Philippines has wrapped up its role as Official Premium Mobility Partner for the ASEAN 2026 Summit, fielding a 125-vehicle fleet to transport heads of state, diplomats, and senior officials across the Philippine-hosted regional gathering held in Cebu.

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, assembled a fleet that covered three vehicle types: armored protection sedans for the most senior delegates, plug-in hybrid SUVs for supporting movements, and fully electric executive sedans for zero-emission official transport.

The Fleet Breakdown

Twenty-five BMW 760i Protection sedans were assigned to heads of state. The model is BMW’s flagship high-security vehicle, built to meet armored-protection requirements without sacrificing the comfort and refinement associated with executive-class transport.

Seventy units of the BMW X3 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid sport activity vehicle handled mobility for visiting diplomats and senior officials. The X3 30e offers electrified efficiency alongside the versatility needed for multi-venue movements across the summit’s locations.

Thirty BMW i5 eDrive40 fully electric executive sedans rounded out the fleet. These had been turned over to the event earlier this year and provided zero-tailpipe-emission mobility for official transport requirements throughout the summit.

Around-the-Clock Support

BMW technical teams were on standby 24 hours a day during the summit to keep the fleet operational. The deployment was intended to meet the coordination demands of a high-level diplomatic event, where reliable and secure vehicle movements are a logistical priority.

The event also underscored the growing presence of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in official and executive transport in the Philippines, with the majority of the summit fleet drawing from electrified powertrains.
