Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) officially launched the New City, New City Hatchback, and New Civic RS e:HEV on October 17, 2026. With these latest offerings, the brand aims to strengthen its sporty roots and enhance models well-loved by Filipinos.
The new models are now available across all 41 Honda Cars dealerships nationwide.
THE NEW HONDA CITY AND CITY HATCHBACK
Launched locally in 1996, the Honda City nameplate has evolved alongside Filipinos for 30 years. Now in its fifth generation, the New Honda City features a sharper, more refined design, tailored for professionals seeking a rewarding daily drive.
The nameplate marked a new evolution in 2021, when HCPI launched the City Hatchback. It offers a sportier look and greater versatility for customers with active lifestyles.
While the City and City Hatchback cater to different lifestyles and preferences, both receive complementary updates that deliver a modern aesthetic while remaining true to Honda’s sporty DNA.
Exterior. The New City and New City Hatchback feature new 16-inch alloy wheels, a new clear lens taillight design, and a new connected headlight profile that enhances night-time road visibility, creating a safer overall experience when driving either model. The New City 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING variant adds a new trunk accent and High Gloss Black door handles, while the New City Hatchback 1.5 RS CVT sports a refreshed rear bumper design. These exterior updates are designed to boost customers’ confidence as they turn heads on and off the road.
Interior. The New City 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING variant and the New City Hatchback now come with a larger 10-inch Display Audio system for easier access to infotainment. Updated seat trims and rear USB-C charging ports are now standard on both RS variants on the New City and New City Hatchback, as well as the New City 1.5 V CVT Honda SENSING grade.
Drivetrain. Powered by a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), both models produce 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. This makes the New City and New City Hatchback fun to drive and efficient at 25.17km/L and 25km/L, respectively, based on the Honda-AAP Eco Run 2021.
Safety. The New City (S, V, and RS variants) and New City Hatchback come standard with Honda SENSING, Honda’s driver-assist system. Aligned with Honda’s global goal of achieving Zero Traffic Collision Fatalities involving Honda automobiles and motorcycles by 2050, the New City 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING and the New City Hatchback are also equipped with features designed to help ensure a safer drive every time. These updated variants now have Rain-Sensing Wipers, Honda LaneWatch Camera (LWC), and an Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror.

The New City comes in the 1.5 S CVT Honda SENSING, 1.5 V CVT Honda SENSING, and 1.5 RS CVT Honda SENSING variants, in these colors:

HONDA RACING CORPORATION ACCESSORIES
To strengthen its connection to its sporty roots, HCPI also announced the local availability of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) accessories. In addition to elevating the sporty appeal of these new models, this encourages customers to personalize and upgrade their Honda cars. Various HRC accessories can be seen outfitted on the New Honda City 1.5 S CVT on display at the Beyond Sensational event this weekend.
For now, only the New City and the New City Hatchback will have compatible HRC accessories.
NEW HONDA CIVIC RS E:HEV, NOW WITH S+ SHIFT
The hybrid variant of the sporty Civic sedan, the New Civic RS e:HEV E-CVT, now comes with the S+ Shift feature. First introduced on the Honda Prelude earlier this year, S+ Shift delivers a unique and engaging experience and exhilarating performance that fully embodies the fun of driving with Honda’s e:HEV full hybrid system.
The S+ Shift feature on the New Civic RS e:HEV E-CVT enhances the built-in Sport drive mode by allowing the paddle shifters to enable virtual upshifts and rev-matched downshifts, mimicking the feel of actual gear-shifting. To complement this, S+ Shift also uses Active Sound Control to produce amplified engine sounds that change during acceleration and deceleration. The driver then enjoys a more spirited drive while still reaping the economic benefits of a hybrid powertrain at 30.12km/L, based on the DOE CY2025 Eco-Run.
In addition to the S+ Shift feature, customers of the New Civic RS e:HEV E-CVT still enjoy safety and convenience features from Honda SENSING, Honda CONNECT, and Google Automotive Services.

WARRANTY
All three newly launched models are now eligible under Honda Secure Plus, HCPI’s extended warranty program designed to improve the overall ownership experience. Customers can enjoy greater value, security, and peace of mind with a total of five years of vehicle warranty or 150,000km, whichever comes first. An eight-year hybrid battery warranty or 160,000km, whichever comes first, also applies to the New Civic RS e:HEV E-CVT.
