Legado Motors Inc., the distributor of in the Philippines, successfully held its recent business forum themed “EV TNVS or Taxi? We Got You!” — a gathering dedicated to advancing the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) among TNVS and taxi operators in the country. The event, held at the Dongfeng Motors showroom in Pasig, brought together operators, partners, fleet owners, and soon-to-be owners to explore the economic and environmental advantages of shifting to electric mobility.

In the morning session, Reymond Delos Reyes, a respected motivational coach, conducted an
exclusive business consultation for participants. He shared practical insights on how investing in
electric vehicles can boost profitability and long-term income for transport operators. Meanwhile, Giovanni Frias, vice president for operations of Dongfeng Motors Philippines, presented a detailed EV vs ICE fuel cost comparison, highlighting that an EV taxi can save up to PHP612,470 per year in fuel expenses compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. He also discussed the overall benefits of transitioning to EVs — from lower maintenance costs to sustainable operations.

During his presentation, Frias invited a representative from TaxiKo, a ride-hailing company owned by Legado Motors, to share his driving experience with the Dongfeng E70 Pro. The TaxiKo representative recounted his journey from Infanta, Quezon via the Marilaque Highway, tackling steep inclines and turns. Despite driving continuously from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, the E70 Pro still retained 30% battery power, demonstrating its impressive endurance, power efficiency, and reliability even under demanding road conditions. Thus, nothing to worry about range anxiety.
