BYD, the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand, is charging into the Philippine MPV segment with a compelling new contender: the all-electric BYD eMAX 7. Fresh off a record-breaking 2024 global performance that saw over 4.25 million NEV units sold, BYD is raising the bar for family vehicles in the country with a model that’s not only efficient but also loaded with comfort, safety, and smart features.
Launched at the recently concluded 2025 Manila International Auto Show, the eMAX 7 is the first full-electric MPV in its class to hit the local market, positioning itself as the ultimate blend of design, functionality, and future-forward engineering, all tailored for the modern Filipino household.
Design that Speaks Sophistication

At first glance, the eMAX 7 turns heads with its Dragon Face 3.0 design—an aesthetic shared with BYD’s luxury lineup, the Han and Tang. The signature floating LED headlights, sculpted body lines, and 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels lend the MPV a refined presence that elevates its curb appeal. It’s a vehicle built not just for transport, but for making a statement wherever it goes.
Room to Grow, Space to Move
Step inside, and the eMAX 7 reveals its true calling: family travel with flair. Available in a 7-seater Standard trim and a 6-seater Superior Captain variant, the MPV offers generous headroom, legroom, and a configurable cabin that suits everything from the school run to weekend getaways. Soft-touch materials, leather upholstery, and a rotating 12.8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto round out a cabin that feels more like a luxury lounge than a minivan.

With up to 980 liters of cargo space, the eMAX 7 ensures there’s room for everything—be it luggage, groceries, or camping gear.
Smart Safety for Peace of Mind
Safety is clearly a top priority. Both variants feature six airbags, a 360-degree view camera, electronic stability control, ABS, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The higher-end Superior Captain trim steps it up with BYD’s DiPilot Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes Lane-Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking—tech that’s as reassuring as it is forward-thinking.
Efficient Power Meets Long-Range Practicality
Under the hood—metaphorically speaking—the eMAX 7 runs on BYD’s signature 8-in-1 electric powertrain paired with the Blade Battery, known for its durability and efficiency. The Standard trim packs a 55.4kWh battery delivering 163PS and 310Nm of torque, with a range of up to 420km. The Superior Captain model, meanwhile, ups the ante with a 71.8kWh battery pushing 204PS and a range of up to 530km on a single charge.
Charging is convenient with both AC and DC options. The top-spec variant supports rapid charging up to 115kW, while the standard model handles up to 89kW DC. Each unit comes with a portable charger, wall-mounted 7kW AC charger, and a V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) cable—handy for powering devices on-the-go or during brownouts.
Practical Pricing with Premium Benefits
With pricing that starts at PHP1.498 million for the Standard variant and PHP1.748 million for the Superior Captain, the eMAX 7 is competitively positioned against traditional internal combustion MPVs, but with significantly lower long-term operating costs. Preventive maintenance is only required once a year (or every 20,000 km), offering up to 80% savings in upkeep over five years.
Early adopters can even enjoy a PHP50,000 discount on purchases made before April 30, 2025.
BYD’s EV Push Gains Ground
The arrival of the eMAX 7 reinforces BYD’s—and its Philippine distributor ACMobility’s—commitment to sustainable mobility. As the Ayala-led company continues to invest in EV infrastructure nationwide, models like the eMAX 7 offer consumers a seamless transition to greener driving.
Whether it’s for the morning commute, a grocery run, or an out-of-town road trip, the eMAX 7 promises a zero-emission ride with zero compromises.
