Toyota Motor Philippines has started retail sales of the all-new Land Cruiser FJ, expanding the Land Cruiser lineup with a more compact SUV designed for both daily driving and off-road use. Offered in TX and VX variants, the Land Cruiser FJ carries familiar elements of the nameplate in a more maneuverable package. Both versions use a ladder-frame chassis, part-time four-wheel-drive system, and 2.7-liter gasoline engine.
Compact proportions with classic Land Cruiser cues
The Land Cruiser FJ draws inspiration from earlier Land Cruiser models through its upright silhouette, short overhangs, wide stance, and squared-off body panels. Its rear-mounted spare tire and side-hinged cargo door reinforce the vehicle’s utilitarian character.
Its smaller dimensions are intended to make the SUV easier to manage in urban environments while retaining the proportions needed for outdoor use. The body also provides a platform for personalization and adventure-oriented modifications.
Both variants measure 4,610mm long and 1,855mm wide, with a 2,580mm wheelbase and 245mm of ground clearance. The TX stands 1,890mm tall, while the VX measures 1,950mm in height.
One engine for both variants
Powering the TX and VX is Toyota’s 2.7-liter 2TR-FE naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 166hp and 245Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The part-time four-wheel-drive system operates in rear-wheel drive during normal road use. Drivers may engage four-wheel drive when additional traction is required on loose, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
The Land Cruiser FJ uses double-wishbone front suspension and a four-link rear suspension. Toyota says this combination is intended to provide the structural durability expected from the Land Cruiser name while maintaining ride comfort for everyday use.
Active Traction Control, or A-TRC, is standard on both variants. The system assists in managing traction across varying road and terrain conditions.
Functional and driver-focused cabin
Inside, the Land Cruiser FJ adopts a straightforward, driver-oriented layout with durable materials and physical controls for frequently used vehicle functions. The cabin also includes contemporary infotainment and instrumentation features for daily driving.
Toyota positions the interior as practical rather than overtly luxurious. Its design is intended to support both regular commutes and recreational trips where ease of operation and durability are priorities.
Land Cruiser FJ TX
The 2.7L TX A/T serves as the more basic and utility-focused variant. It is equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, LED lighting, a 9-inch infotainment display, and a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster.
The TX also comes with synthetic leather seats with manual adjustment. Physical controls include a lever-type parking brake and a rotary selector for the four-wheel-drive modes.
Toyota positions the TX for buyers who want a straightforward 4×4 that can be adapted to different requirements. Its simpler specification also gives owners a more functional base for customization.
Land Cruiser FJ VX
The 2.7L VX A/T adds comfort, convenience, and driver-assistance features to the TX platform. Exterior upgrades include 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and side steps.
Inside, the VX receives a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather shift knob. A Panoramic View Monitor provides a wider view of the vehicle’s surroundings during parking and low-speed maneuvering.
The VX also includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Its driver-assistance functions include a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam.
These systems are intended to support the driver rather than replace attentive vehicle operation. Their availability also creates a clearer distinction between the more functional TX and the better-equipped VX.

The Land Cruiser FJ is available in Smoky Blue, Oxide Bronze Mica, Ash, Attitude Black Mica, and Platinum White Pearl Mica. The selection includes both neutral finishes and more distinctive colors suited to the model’s rugged styling.
