Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Honda’s automotive business unit in the country, has unveiled the newest Honda CR-V at the Enderun Tent in McKinley Hill, Taguig City. It’s the seventh new Honda offering for our local market after the Accord, City, Jazz, Brio, Brio Amaze, and Civic.
One of the first crossovers ever made, the latest Honda CR-V builds on its lineage as a comfortable and flexible vehicle fit for all kinds of environment. The nameplate’s fourth iteration was engineered following Honda’s “Value Up CR-V” concept that is anchored upon three main ideas: efficiency, functionality, and confidence. The result? A machine that feels and performs like a passenger car, functions like a minivan, and is secure like an SUV.
The new CR-V is available with a 2.4L or 2.0L i-VTEC engine paired with either a 5-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission. The 2.4L variant is capable of delivering a maximum power of 185Ps @ 7,000rpm, while the 2.0L engine gives out 153Ps of power @ 6,500rpm. Paddle shift technology also gives the convenience and technical feel of a manual transmission on the new CR-V. For a fuel-efficient drive, Honda’s Eco Assist System and Eco Coaching Ambient Meter are on board.
On the exterior, the fourth generation CR-V looks sleeker and sportier, with a new bumper garnish up front and at back, prominent front grille, LED daytime running lights (DRL), and refreshed 17-inch alloy wheels adding to its appeal.
Complementing the bold exterior is a modern-looking cabin drenched in black. Plush leather seats, 8-way electronically adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, smart entry with push start system, and a new onboard infotainment system are on hand for the convenience of riders. Additionally, the CR-V presents two colored screens: an intelligent Multi Information Display (i-MID) for vehicle data such as fuel consumption; and Honda’s 7-inch touch screen Display Audio with a built-in navigation system for your travelling peace of mind.
For connectivity, the two screens can be interfaced with Bluetooth for hands-free telephony and audio streaming; and USB and HDMI ports for easy mirroring of your phone’s screen onto the Display Audio.
Various features make their way onto the new CR-V’s safety line up, including, for the first time locally, Honda’s LaneWatch safety technology. A tiny camera on the passenger’s side mirror feeds live video to the Display Audio, eliminating blind spots when turning, and giving drivers four times greater field of view than just using the side mirror.
Furthermore, the CR-V is backed up by a multi-view reverse camera with dynamic guidelines; Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) which activates the brake and hazard lights during sudden stops; driver and passenger SRS airbags; side airbags; Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD); Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA); and Hill Start Assist.
The 2015 Honda CR-V ships with four trims at the following prices: the 2.0 V MT is tagged at PHP 1,313,000; the CR-V 2.0 V AT sells for PHP 1,353,000; the 2.0 S AT variant for PHP 1,483,000; and the top-of-the-line Honda CR-V 2.4 SX AT is priced at PHP 1,673,000.
The following color options are available for the above trims: copper sunset pearl (2.0 S and 2.4 SX only), white orchid pearl (2.0 S and 2.4 SX only), brilliant sporty blue metallic (2.0 S and 2.0 V only), crystal black pearl, and modern steel metallic.
