Isuzu Philippines recently held its Service Skills Olympics last June 3, at the the Filinvest Tent in Alabang. The event was in celebration and recognition of key dealer parts and service personnel, namely service advisors, service technicians, and parts analysts whose roles are paramount to the success of the company . In the spirit of team building, the Service Skills Olympics also included activities aimed at strengthening the theoretical and technical skills of IPC’s dealer parts and service personnel.
The competition which included both written and practical exams were led by the IPC president Hajime Koso, EVP Shojiro Sakoda, and vice president for aftersales Koji Hanawa, and had three categories(Service Technicians,Service Advisors,and Parts Analysts). For the service technician category Martt Erruze Pugay and Leovence Galeja, bagged first place, followed by Isuzu Davao’s Leonido Gascon and Reynaldo Berberio and Jusua Cantre and Mark Tirso dela Cruz II of Isuzu Bulacan. In the service advisor category, Jessie James Marilla of CDO bagged third place, followed by Melvin Esguerra of Isuzu Cavite and Julius Cesar Opcaco of Isuzu Mandaue who took the first and second spots, respectively. Last, but certainly not the least was the Parts Analyst Category where Jessie Huyno of Cagayan de Oro bagged the championship followed by 1st Runner Up winner Joana Zorilla of Isuzu Pampanga and 2nd Runner Up winner Joslito Tubilla of Isuzu Mandaue.
From the pool of winners, IPC will build a team who will represent Isuzu Philippines in the upcoming 2017 Isuzu World Technical Competition in Japan, this November.
“I believe that from these pool of winners, IPC has a greater chance of bagging the top post in this year’s Isuzu World Technical Competition and I’m looking forward to that,”Koso said. According to him, the latest results pleasing results of this year’s ISSO shows that the current knowledge and confidence of on the brand of Isuzu’s employees are signs of a yet another victory. In 2016, IPC won bagged second place in the LCV category held in Thailand, and third place in the Category B: emission regulation for N-series, Euro 4 and below held in Japan.
