Chevrolet Philippines – The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), the official distributor of Chevrolet vehicles and parts in the Philippines, launched its new subcompact sedan contender, the Chevrolet Sail at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) held last April.
The Chevy Sail comes with several features that balance utility and style. Powering the three Chevy Sail variants—the 1.5 AT LTZ; 1.5 AT LT; and 1.3MT LT, are precisely engineered engines that come with a timing chain that beats the usual timing belt in terms of durability and strength. This, among others, contributes to the car’s efficiency that then translates to lower maintenance costs. The 1.5L DOHC D-VVT engine that delivers 109 PS at 6,000 rm 141 Nm of torque 4,000 rpm will be powering the 1.5L AT LTZ and the 1.5L AT LT variants. Both variants come with 4-speed automatic transmission with active select. As for the 1.3L MT LT, a 1.3L DOHC VVT engine that’s rated at 100PS at 6,000 rpm and 127 Nm at 4,000 rpm will be the force behind the car’s decent and reliable driving experience. Likewise, comes with 5-speed manual transmission.
To celebrate Chevy’s 105 years of providing top of the line cars and services, the Chevrolet Sail carries the iconic dual-port grille design and the Chevrolet golden rod bowtie. Adding to the newly announced vehicle’s bold and classy look, the Sail also sports a sunroof and 16” gunmetal alloy wheels. For the interior, the vehicle comes with touchscreen infotainment, a system that seamless integrates the digital mobile experience right into the car. Waze and spotify integration are just among the applications that the system offers. Further balancing form and function, the Sail also features sixteen user-friendly storage compartments, a trunk space of 366 liters, and a Jet Black interior theme.
Chevrolet always makes it a point to prioritize safety. The Chevy Sail is equipped with various tools and materials that ensure the highest of safety standards. Apart from consisting of 5.7 percent of PHS hot-rolled steel that enhances the vehicle’s body in terms of durability, the Sail also comes with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), driver and passenger airbags, and is ISOFIX ready.
