Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has wrapped up its 21st Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO), the company’s annual nationwide competition that puts dealer service personnel to the test across technical, customer-handling, and parts operations challenges. Held under the theme “Mastering Skills, Leading the Future,” this year’s event drew 113 participants from Isuzu dealerships across the country, competing in three categories: Service Technician, Service Advisor, and Parts Staff.

What the Competition Covers

The ISSO runs participants through a combination of written and practical exams that go beyond textbook knowledge. Competitors are tested on technical troubleshooting, vehicle inspection, customer handling, parts operations, and real-world service scenarios that mirror what they encounter daily on the workshop floor. The Service Technician category is run as a team event, emphasizing coordination and collaboration over individual performance.

“At Isuzu, we understand that our customers depend on their vehicles every day for business, livelihood, and family needs. This is why we continue to invest in programs like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics, to further strengthen the skills and capabilities of our service personnel nationwide. Through continuous learning and improvement, we aim to help keep our customers’ vehicles running at their best, minimize downtime, and provide them with the confidence and peace of mind they deserve every time they visit our dealerships,” said Yasuhiko Oyama, executive vice president of IPC.

Through programs like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics, we continue to strengthen our service standards and ensure that our customers receive the best care every time they visit our dealerships,” said Hodaka Matsuda, vice president for aftersales at IPC.

The Isuzu Service Skills Olympics has been running for over two decades, and IPC positions it as a core part of how it keeps its nationwide dealer network sharp as vehicle technology advances and customer expectations grow. For Isuzu owners, the practical takeaway is straightforward: the technician or advisor at your local dealership has likely gone through this kind of structured, nationally benchmarked training.
